an email I received:Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. Jesus loves you and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMO's and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science but creationism should be taught in schools. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's cocaine conviction is none of our Business. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant. Feel free to pass this on. If you don't send it to at least 10 other people, we're likely to be stuck with "Bushit" forever IP: Logged |

Why, Steve! Don't you want to post this over at GU and let jwhop have a go at it?!?!? I find these "contrasts" in values very interesting. I could laugh, except some of them hurt too much, and some of them are infuriating..... 'Z IP: Logged |

Good suggestion Zala! I must say that the patriotic zeal with which JWHop defends each and every Bush policy is something to be admired. Imagine if he were to put this energy in yoga or healing, or even his own business venture! He would be a billionaire!!! IP: Logged |

Jwhop doesn't defend each and every Bush policy. Several weeks ago he posted a list of White House policies he disagrees with. I believe he does quite well in the real estate market btw IP: Logged |

I feel he (Jwhop) has a bit of a flair for astrology too....a man of many talents.....I wonder if we could coax him to come over to different forums.....seems a pity to waste all that talent...and restrict yourself to GU only !!!!!! Hey Jwhop come and join us man if you are reading this....I think you have a bit of a psychic gift going there.....

He's an old curmudgeon, to be sure, but a loveable one.And his criticisms are head on. So much better, I think, than the back-handed ones clothed in insincere pleasantries. IP: Logged |

you got that right A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

What I admire about jwhop is.......he'll criticize your opinions...without putting you down, personally....he plays the game fairly (oh except for maybe calling you a "commie" every now and then [if you're not a dyed-in-the-wool Republican...] )... Oh yeah! He sometimes calls you a "traitor" too...hmmmmm....still and all he's referring to your politics and not you personally...(I think)Hmmmmm.... jwhop? Are you cool or not? Help! IP: Logged |
