In january I participated in www.43things.com and one of the 'things' was to list a 100 things that make me happy (besides money). I just came across it again and thought I'd share it and challenge you all to do it too. It's so fun! 100. Hot showers

These are not in any order, just 20-25 off the top of my head.1. Watching a baby go to sleep on my chest, soothed by my heartbeat. 2. Hearing the love of my life giggle. 3. Lifting a weight that I could not lift a month ago. 4. Bowling so fast that I can hear my arm make a whoosh sound 5. Rippling shoulder muscles while brushing teeth. 6. Breathing in a lungful of clean morning air that has the smell of about 10 different kinds of leaves. 7. Baby gurgles 8. Watching a young child struggle with tying the shoelace and then beam when it is accomplished. 9. Comprehending complex philosophy 10. Solving a difficult mathematical equation 11. Remembering my 19 times table. 12. Listening to Pink Floyd music in an air conditioned room during hot summer, dozing off a few minutes after the album is complete. 13. Completing a software program in C++ without bugs. 14. Hot tub for 2 hours. 15. Sleeping after that  16. Out of Body experiences 17. Out of Body experiences with a very hot chick in the Astral plane. 18. Understanding someone's problem so clearly as to give a precise suggestion that makes him or her say Eureka. 19. Jogging on the beach barefoot, early morning, the surf occasionally wetting the ankles. 20. Writing a poem with an ink pen. Including the scratches. 21. Reading a book very slowly, digesting every paragraph. 22. Reading it again a few years later only to see a completely different perspective. 23. Watching Matrix 1 again even though it has been seen a dozen times. 24. Allowing a child to win any game without making him think that I deliberately lost. 25. Blackforest cake with chocolate icecream and fruitsalad, eaten together. 26. An immediate email response from a friend. *27. An email friend 2 continents away asking if I am allright just because I have not posted anywhere on the web for 3-4 days. (*This feels really special ) 28. Rollercoasters. 29. Getting excited at seeing a bikini clad beauty the exact same way like 15. 30. Seeing Family albums with the song "Yesterday" playing in the head.

I didn't know I would make your happy list.... This is a nice exercise... you get to really immerse yourself in your experiences and relive what makes you happy. Before undertaking it, I fear my list would be too short, and then I think once I got started, I'd never be able to stop.

Okay.. here are some... amazed that there are so much more!!!!100 things that make me happy sharing, being understood or helping
dancing
unpretentiousness
laughing until your belly gets the work out of a lifetime and your cheeks hurt and you cry
goof-balling
watching a child learn or show off what they know
trying, despite the odds
belief and faith, both in myself and others
belief FROM others
always justifying because somehow, despite indications to the contrary, there is self love
being a lover, the act of loving
knowing you are appreciated
squishy hugs
when children say the most ridiculous and true things like, recently, with a guilty face… “ Remember when Cosmo was mean to me and scratched me? You know when something is so cute you just want to squeeze it and ….throw it against the wall?”  … 
reaching that note, sustaining it, proving yourself, doing it again
creation… anything.. stained glass/painting, anything
giving birth.. not the event necessarily, the power in nature
support
the sound of a thunderstorm/rain
waking up early and actually liking it
not having anything planned, sometimes doing ‘nothing’

smooches
allowing others to just be, even if they ignore your advice, even if you know it is wrong.. just be

making an amazing meal

barefoot walking
pleasure… simple or complex
finally figuring out ( even fleetingly) the thing that was bugging you
winning at trivia games because for some reason, even though you can’t remember the names of everyone you encounter, you have a photographic memory for things you hear/read
a phone call/email that is genuine
being understood
feeling the wonder of companionship
breathing
loving a song so much that you want to squeeze it and throw it against the wall.
whatever speaks to the passion driving you in moments
losing weight/feeling strong in your body
forgiving flaws
seeing beauty in people, though you are thought naive

I actually sat down and made a list… and it wasn’t that hard. It included a couple of things already mentioned. You’ll have that sometimes, I guess
1. My daughter
2. Trees
3. Autumn
4. Long scenic drives
5. The Ocean
6. Thunderstorms
7. Rainy Sundays
8. Hearing someone whistle
9. Warm towels just out of the dryer
10. Listening to My Morning Jacket on my drive to work in the morning
11. Listening to The Allman Brothers on my drive home from work
12. The curvy scenic road along the lake that leads to my house
13. Good Friends
14. Laughing
15. Crying
16. Smiles
17. Being the person that is easy for people to talk to
18. Being the person that people trust
19. Being told I have a nice smile
20. Telling someone they have nice smile, laugh, etc.

Thanks for sharing this interesting exercise, SunChild All I could think of for now..... 66 Things That Make Me Happy 1. Swimming in the warm ocean at a tropical Hawaiian beach
2. Phone calls or emails from friends I don’t see often enough
3. Nearly every kind of chocolate ice cream
4. Hearing my son giggling softly in his sleep
5. The World’s Softest Socks (brand name) right out of the dryer on a winter morning
6. The rising sun through the trees outside my kitchen window
7. The smell of lilacs blooming wildly all over the neighborhood
8. Ice cold lemonade on a hot day
9. taking pics of family/friends that turn out really well! (poor photographer :-D )
10. my favorite music (that’s another whole thread)
11. walking slowly through the woods, listening to the sound and smelling the smells of nature
12. the first snowfall of the year
13. the moonlight glittering on the snow on my front lawn
14. helping a stranger (the elderly lady at the grocery store, the lost driver on the street)
15. cruising by boat in the San Juan Islands
16. browsing Gallery in the Sun in Tucson
