Oh, another thing.

Dana is good, she is just a sweet country/pop singer, not a hard rock singer. There is nothing wrong with her ~ she has a great voice. She just needs to realize that it's not about what she isn't, it's about what she IS. Take what you are and go make something of it ~ go develope your own band/song/etc. Don't try to fit in where you don't belong.

If the contestants were smart they'd form bands while in the house. Take the publicity that they already have, and use that to gain media coverage after the show's over in creating their own super group.

Aqua MC

Man, Lukas' performance is still with me. He did so good I've watched it lots of times now. It's even better considering he took the last song left on the board after everyone had chosen.

Don't you love that confidence? Yummy
Dilana has it too. When you know you are awesome, it doesn't matter how the rest scramble.

If you find a myspace page for Lukas, then LET ME KNOW!! hehe

Well, at least we can re-watch the performances on the web site, well, if I can ever get it to load up.

I'm beginning to wonder if they chose any amateurs. Maybe it's just the people I've looked at so far. Lukas has got a pretty good resume. http://rockstar.msn.com/rockers2/lukas

Wow, I am good. :
(guessing your Aqua)

My MC is Cappy.

Wow, Lukas does have a great resume! You know, all of these contestants have such baby young skin. Their faces have like not one wrinkle, scar, age mark. I wonder how old they are?
Another thing I was thinking, I bet a lot of bands are going to make proposals to those who are not chosen by SuperNova. So these people shouldn't be so bummed by not getting it ~ look at their exposure.

You've asked me about the Aquarius connection before. I think it was because of the weird things I post in your section.

With regard to their ages, there's a message board at the Rockstar site. I saw a discussion about age there. Storm Large is 37 if I remember right. I think Lukas and Dilana are both around 33. I don't know about the rest. A lot of people are wearing makeup during the show.

I can't keep up with who is who/what sign here. Having an Aqua MC, you would remember!

I find it hard to believe that Storm is 37 with such a soft, young, flawless complexion! She looks and acts much younger.

If I were her, I'd go by "Stormy".

Lukas looks much younger than 33. Dilana looks and acts 33. She is very mature, well-rounded, and confident.

Wow Wow Wow
Tonight was good.
Ryan was really good. I loved Josh tonight, but then he says he'd rather go nasal. Ahh well.
Toby was ok. Lukas always does it for me, Dilana too. She made me cry. Not the song, just her amazing performance.
I even liked Magni and Zayra's outfit was fun even though I hope they vote her off this week.
And
I even liked STORM tonight!

Yeah, I thought tonight kind of evened out the playing field a bit.

Ryan finally got a little respect. I liked that. Good song choice.

I've never particularly cared for the song Josh sang (No Rain - I don't like the original singer's voice), but big time kudos for acknowledging what he's into, and what his strengths are.

Bad song for Toby, but I like him and think he deserves to stay.

Dilana was fine until she finally did the vocal deviation ("Oh, I'll be waiting" or whatever). That really didn't do anything for me. Too Melissa Etheridge with that rasp.

I liked that Magni stood up for himself, and that he at least got acknowledged for a good vocal... even if his performance wasn't dramatic.

Storm threw me off. It was like a Yin/Yang pull for me. Ultimately I loved it, though. I freakin' love that song. I recently put that song on a CD for myself, so that was synchronistic. I was a little put off by her vocal deviations, but at the same time I realize that they didn't sound bad. I did like her changing of the words to fit a female singer perspective.

Lukas sang a song I thought about recently. I'm kind of surprised that song was in there. I thought he was completely uninspiring singing it. I thought the guitar was a terrible prop. The performance was poor enough that I didn't really dig the lighting theatric. The only thing I really liked from him tonight was his hair.

I was surprised by the clips of music they played at the mansion. Not bad.

Last night I got the impression that Storm was an ARies too. Only a fire sign would stage dive! It's about time one of them did that, though! Sheesh!
(P.S. I love fire)

I thought LUkas was very good.

Zayra and her outfit were quite shocking and surprising - her moves, etc. I feel bad for her that they always laugh at her, though.

And of course, my favorite. Dilana. WOW. She reminded me of a Grandmother, or a Mother singing to her children. I LOVE her voice. If they choose her, and make an album, I will buy it just because of her. If they tour here, I will go just because of her. My mother commented on their reaction to her; "They're all in love with her."

Are you kidding me? I'M in love with her! hehhehe She is amazing. I am a fan too. She is my official favorite female singer of all time!

AG - Don't read this until after you watch tonight!!!

I told ya Storm was an Aries hehehe! I can just tell by the vibe... well, that she has a lot of Mars energy anyway. It's my opposite so I can sense it easier. And she is SUCH A MAN! hehe And not in that cool sexy Scorp way that Dilana is... more like in the she probably chugs beer and crushes it on her head kind of way (and then does the V thing with her fingers and tongue). But, like I said, I have to admire SOME of those fiery qualities! I loved her performance last night. Her encore tonight was cool too.

So, I can't believe that Tommy sent his bf home instead of Zayra. I did like her song tonight, but she made it clear she has a different style than the band. I think that Jason just said, Hey you are going let Phil go anyway, so let my hot gf Z stay on for another show and get a little more exposure... then the guys agreed that her outfits and weird performances added more to the show than Phil (which I disagree slightly) and then Tommy had to let him go.

I agree about Gilby too But I swoon more over Dave... can't help it, love that Gemini vibe!!! My feelings for Jason are just short of worship, as with all of the Metallica boys.
And Lukas and Ryan have that sexy Scorp vibe. Hmmm... so many gorgeous and amazing musicians to enjoy! Life is good!!!

Well, I saw it. That was interesting! That was a really odd decision. You tell him it was his best performance, and then boot him? Why? Because you imagine that he doesn't want it? That's just not logical. Phil's never gonna look like he wants anything. That's his natural look.

Zayra's song was cool, but her performance wasn't good, and it was off-key often.

You really can't go wrong with Radiohead (unless you do their modern stuff), so that was an excellent choice for Patrice.

Is it just my tv, or is the sound off lately? I don't feel like I'm getting the full force of the music, and the mix sounds off. Instruments and vocals don't sound like they're at their proper volumes.

I know what you mean. I was thinking tonight that they are more "produced" now, so in a way, that is why everybody sounds "better." I was thinking that they must do that to make it "more exciting" for the viewers to see the artists make more dramatic progressions. But that echo vibe thing Patrice had going on at the end ended up making it look like she was cheating a bit instead of just adding to her voice. It ended up appearing as if she couldn't sustain her own note instead of adding force to her voice. There were some weird things on other performances too, but I wasn't as psyched tonight or paying as much attention since it was just encores and fight for life's.

Well, my opinion of him is improving a bit after hearing him talk more. He seemed like a prick during the initial judgments when the show started. He just seemed unjustifiably arrogant: the guitarist I never heard of from GnR.

I hated the way they backed Jill into a corner tonight. They practically forced her into making that statement that they all booed. I'm glad she didn't have to sing after that. I think her point was valid, and I think Gilby kind of took his puritanism a bit far. I thought at first that he was going to back off from having taken such a harsh stance. I can't believe it went down that way. Also, how hypocritical is it to have Tommy flirting with her week after week, and then try to take her down for making a sexual move on stage?

Must have been the night of mixed signals.

Leo with a Pisces moon! Thanks Teaselbaby! I wish I would have guessed Gilby! It's easy to see he is a Leo!!!!

AG, That whole scene with Jill has to do with a homophobic reaction to her grabbing Gilby and doing the butt ram! hehe It caught him off guard and threw his performance, (he "left" as he said) and it p.o.'d him because Jason did so awesome in his performance, and then Jill messed him up on his turn. Then because she got such a strong reaction from the crowd the first time she did it, she tried it again on the next verse and it was lame and contrived. She always seems to be scurrying for scraps. I'm with Gilby there. And he can't stand her now, so bye bye Jilly.

Moral of the Story
Do not emasculate men when you are auditioning for them.

Dave Navarro said:

"I'm on my way to watch another Supernova hopeful get the hatchet! If it were MY band, Zayra would be packing her things and going home tonight, but that's not my call. The guys sometimes surprise me with their choices, so it's always just as much as a mystery to me as it is to you guys. There is something about Zayra that is entertaining to watch I will say. I really think that if she went into a more elctronic/Peaches direction, she could be all right, but a rock singer she is not. It is a bizzare season because for me, it wouldn't be a tough choice. The good news is that ones that evolve and grow, get to stay longer and hopefully learn something as well as get plenty of exposure and a crash course in this public life that they are living. Plus, it's just more rock on Network Television, of which I am a huge supporter. I'll check in after the show with a spoiler and another update.

One of my favorite moments from last night's show:

The exchange between me and Patrice. That actually went on for like 10 minutes in the studio. A lot was said but the gist was aired. For the most part, my point was that these contestants have so many weeks to impress the band that they should take advantage of the time and show them different sides. Most people going into an audition only get a few minutes to try out for whatever it is they are trying out for. If you have 13 weeks, why not show the band something new?"

Ahh yes, great minds think alike

The mystery of Phil Ritchie's commitment phobia....

Dave Navarro then said:

"Wow! A lot of people are really up in arms about Phil going home! Well, after watching the show last night on television, I would have to agree with the Supernova guys once again. If you think about the direction we give these contestants, Zayra and Patrice are the only ones who listened to it. We keep saying, "change it up". Phil kept giving them the same performance while Patrice and Zayra clearly made efforts to try different things with their performances. We all know there can only be one winner, so I agree that the ones who are willing to take direction and evolve should be entitled to stay longer. Phil just didn't do anything new. As for the "question of Phil's commitment", check this out:
********

Ritchie said his primary goal for competing is to gain exposure for his band. "I mean, really I just hope to gain exposure. I love my band and I love the music," he said. "I'm not stoked about the music Supernova's popping out."
He said he knows if he wins the competition he's obligated to tour with the band, but that's a risk he's willing to take.
"I may have taken a risk. I love my boys back home, but you know I still have to look out for myself in this world," he said. "I've got to create opportunities for myself, and this is too huge an opportunity to say no to."

************

Obviously, I should know, of all people, that what you read in the press isn't always accurate, but these are Phil's words in quotes and he has confirmed saying it. If Supernova is looking for someone to represent them and be committed, why would they choose a guy who doesn't take direction in an audition setting and slags them off in the press? IMHO...Supernova might as well keep the ones who want to be there and are willing to try to mix it up.

This was asked right away:

I mean, do you honestly think he is the only contestant that is using Supernova to promote other agendas? For that matter, aren't there members of Supernova that are using Supernova to promote their other projects?

People may be promoting other things, but they aren't talking $#!t about the band they are in or auditioning for. That $#!t is unacceptable."

That's interesting. Gives things a different perspective. Perhaps they should have aired Phil's words, so we'd know how they had come to the conclusion they had. That makes a huge difference in perception.
