I'm addicted to anything that involves singing
Wasn't that chick who did Nirvana awesome... super intense. That voice was wicked, with the right music and lyrics they could get a really powerful message across. And hopefully not a "wicked" one... just a jarring, eye-opening one...
The end guy who did Billy Idol was my second favorite. I liked the Bring Me To Life chick too, but she isn't right for the band. Well, for Tommy anyway... Jason wants to marry her.

Looks like Jason is a Pisces with a Cancer moon and Mars in Leo.
Tommy's a Virgo with moon in Taurus
I googled Gilby Clark but no luck.

Here's a link and quote from the link:

"Supernova will also feature stars and erstwhile fans like Slash, Macy Gray, Moby, Rob Zombie, Brian May, Ash, Courtney Love and even actor Hank Azaria.

That’s in addition to an astonishing catalogue of songs covering more than five decades of rock music! "

http://star-ecentral.com/news/story.asp?file=/2006/7/4/tvnradio/14699983&sec=tvnradio

Slash... looks like he's a Leo, can't find a full natal on him.

OMG! I loved the girl that sang Nirvana! She is the one! She is the only ONE! She would be so AWESOME for them! She will bring them so much unique, crazy, brilliant energy! I really hope she gets it, that would be so NEW and UNIQUE considering the band is called SUPERNOVA! Nova means "new".

I was really surprised they kept the other 2 guys in the bottom 3. The guy they booted was a better singer than the other 2, who had little to no stage presence and looked like amateurs. Too bad they booted him due to song choice, because he had a much better voice than the other 2.

I can't wait until next week!

Oh forgot to mention I loved her brilliant green eyes.

James Hetfield was in front of me in line at Whole Foods yesterday. I was the only one who recognized him. Yesiree, Bob.

WHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?

Give him my number next time, will ya?
He's my hero, no joke.
Where do you live, can I come visit? hehe

Yes, you are completely right about Duran Duran guy. He is stubborn and not right for them, but much better than the other two, I thought. That skinny guy stinks in my opinion.

She is perfect to bring them back.

I love these shows, too. Can't say I have a clear favorite yet, but I'd say the girls are bringin' it pretty strong this season. Not that they didn't last season. I can think of three women who were all great in the style they chose to sing (psycho girl, country girl, and Janis Joplin girl). I can honestly only think of two guys whose performances I enjoyed (Black Crows happy guy, and Billy Idol kid).

America kind of screwed up in it's voting, though. The blond female singer that played guitar sang her song pretty badly like the Billy Idol singer said. She should have been in the bottom three instead of the guy who actually got booted. That would have been a decent bottom three.

The dopey tall guy who survived last night shouldn't last too long. He's just too goofy, and he's got no precision in his singing.

I really wish Marty from last season would come out with something. That guy was talented.

I miss last season actually, because with INXS there was a bit of range in the musical styles they could pursue. I'm not sure that Supernova's got any soul to them, and that's too bad. As seen last night people will be booted for not bringing rock, and only rock.

I was thinking today that it would be cool if someone sang a Jane's Addiction song for Dave. See if he'd play it with them.

That would be cool. Well, I don't know if I agree that rock has no soul hehe but I know that's not exactly what you meant, and I know where you are coming from. I was really glad to hear Tommy say that he loved Switchfoot. I love their music.
Well, I haven't been to the LoveHammers website to see if the album is finally for sale or what, but you can download Trees and other songs from the album.

I don't wanna go through this life
Without you by my side
And I have got it all worked out
In my head
Here's how it's got to be

It will be you and me up in the trees
And the forest will give us the answers
It'll be you and I up in the sky
Its a combination for disaster

We, we make believe
In a world we rule together
We, can build our dreams
With a knot tied tight to last forever

It will be you and me up in the trees
And the forest will give us the answers
It will be you and I up in the sky
It's a combination for disaster

Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea
We got one shot
So let's use our imagination
Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea
You're all that I've got
So where do we go from here?

It will be you and me up in the trees
And the forest will give us the answer
It will be you and I up in the sky
It's a combination for disaster

And I know there's more for us in this life
If we hold on
If we hold strong
I know there's more for us in this life
Can we hold on, can we hold on?

Oh yeah, and that guitarist chick wasn't that great, you are right. And Billy Idol guy was right about the young 21 year old chick too. She wouldn't last with them on the road! hehe
Did you hear her actually say to them, "Well, I might actually be able to keep them alive!" like she was thier mother or something. LOL I saw their faces and knew she lost that second. hehhehe
Yes, the Janis Joplin chick was pretty good. My daughter loved her. She was jumping up and down and waving her arms and making happy noises while she sang.

MysticMelody ~

I live in Marin County, Ca. I live in San Rafael and James lives in Novato, the next town, is married, w/ 3 kids.

This is a good place for celeb.'s to live because there is no paparazzi.

Acoustic God ~ ROFL! I cracked up at your commentary! Your descrip.'s/nicknames of people are right on! LOLOLOLOL
I agree that the tall blond was not good at all ~ what is she thinking? She is going to front a heavy/hardcore group of rock guys? It seemed like she is trying to be on that other show..........what is it called.......American Idol or something.
Isn't the "dopey tall guy" the one that sang Black Crow's song? I think his name is Phil? Sorry, I really thought he just was terrible, no talent, presence, and boring. He reminds me of Norton the mouse.
I guess I missed something with the Billy Idol guy, 'cos I just didn't find him very talented. I'll re-examine him next week.
I just can't see the Janis Joplin girl in their band. That will look so funny. She just doesn't "fit" with them.
The cute, pretty Country girl should stick to what she is ~ country, and not hardcore rock.

No, the tall, dopey guy sang Cult of Personality, and then a Switchfoot song (When I Look At The Stars or something like that).

Happy Black Crows guy sang really well. He had a grin on the whole time he sang. He sounded like the newer pop-rock type people. He reminds me of Gavin DeGraw (Had to look that name up. I don't think I've ever known it.). http://www.gavindegraw.com/ (Listen to Chariot or I Don't Wanna Be) Happy Black Crows guy had a very similar tone and soul to his voice. Here's a pic of Happy Black Crows guy (Josh):

Billy Idol kid didn't show a lot of singing talent per se. He showed a lot of moxy, though, and that can count for a lot as long as he can sing reasonably well.

I can't see Janis Joplin girl getting too far either with her cheeriness and Farrah Faucet hairdo. She could sure sing, though, huh? Wow!

I just went to their site (rockstar.msn.com). They've actually got more than they've shown on tv available to watch. There was one where all the contestants were brought to the studio where Supernova were playing. After they were done Supernova invited anyone who wanted to to sing to their song on the spot. The guy who slaughtered the Police song (cop-killer ) went first. They didn't show everyone. They seemed to have liked Janis Joplin girl (they liked her sense of the song best), and dopey Phil though he just mumbled nonsense. Apparently the only one that didn't sing was the guy that sang Iris (the Goo Goo Dolls song).

Ooohh, okay, now I know who you're talking about. That guy (Josh) is really good, too, but he just isn't wild enough to front them. They need someone wild and crazy like them, who will bring them an abundance of NEW, CREATIVE ENERGY.

------> tall dopey guy LOL!

I dunno, I just wasn't into the Janis Joplin short blond girl at all.

Their website was pretty cool. So when is the show going to be on next?

Define: Moxy?

According to the dictionary, I spelled it wrong.

Moxie: Aggressive energy; initiative: “His prose has moxie, though it rushes and stumbles from a pent-up surge” (Patricia Hampl).

Neph, Did you see the recent Metallica movie? I loved seeing what they all were up to and seeing their interactions. It was mouth dropping to see the things I sensed about them mixed with things I could only hope for, playing out in front of me.
Of course, you just said you saw him, didn't say you were a fan, so sorry if I am assuming!

AG, will you post more pics with descriptions and names? I'm not that comfortable with photobucket yet, have only used it a couple times. When you have time.... !

Billy Idol guy has guts, that's all. No guts, no glory, and all that jazz... err.. rock.

Mystic ~

No, I haven't seen it. What's it called? I could rent it.

Well I was a fan when Black came out, listened to that a LOT. I also have a video of them playing with the San Francisco Symphony. It is VERY VERY GOOD and AMAZING.

Click this link and scroll down just a bit to the pic. dated 5/19/06 with him and his wife. He looked exactly like this when I saw him last week. I saw him about 5 years ago in Novato, and he looked younger. (Do we really age that much in 5 years? I hope I don't.) http://hetfield.tarsierjungle.net/

Did you go to the Rockstar website AG listed? It's good. It lists everyone's name, etc.

Funny, I had a dream about Tommy Lee last night. It was one of the funnest (most fun?) dreams I ever had in my life. I think he would be a really fun person to be friends with.

Anyhow can't wait until tomorrow night, 9 p.m., and then Wed. 8 p.m.! Same bat time, same bat channel!

AG!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!! Now we can just say the name instead of skinny weird guy... speaking of PHIL, him and Magni HAVE GOT TO GO! hehe Actually, there is a small chance Phil could get better but Magni isn't ready. It's an international vote so his whole country probably votes for him, though. Not much chance of him getting kicked off soon.

Neph, I will check out that link and will figure out the name of the movie, I guess it's not as "recent" as I made it seem. More like in the last 5 years prolly! hehe I saw it on VH1 last summer.

Neph! That is HILARIOUS and WRONG!!! lol

Do you mean that he had that weird split beard when you saw him? Icky! I like that one that shows he is all gray. At least he dyes everything to keep the memory of youth alive! All the bible quotes are pretty funny too.
I happen to think he is very handsome, but that is just me adoring him like a long loved friend. I would hate the site itself if I didn't think that James would see it and just laugh and then show all of his friends.
I like the symphony idea, but I think they took an idea that was ahead of it's time and just went farther than their fans could handle. I also think that they didn't nail it, since it is more difficult to create emotionally powerful poetry without anger. The end of that movie showed the interviews for the new guy... I don't even know his name. He was good though. They picked well. I liked the new songs but I haven't bought that album yet. GOD FORBID I ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD ANY OF THEM!!!!!!!!! Well, Lars forbid anyway.
This movie shows how Lars is, it's hilarious. I love them so much, and I understand both points of view, but I just LOVE seeing them act human. If you haven't seen it, you will love watching.
Ok, I am so lame, I just Googled and it was 2004. Some Kind of Monster
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387412/

It says the tagline is "The film that redefines group therapy." HILARIOUS. I loved every minute. I have it on a tape somewhere, I will have to dig it up and re-watch soon.

I saw some of that. Seems like James and Lars have troubles with one another. Lars seemed pretty domineering to me. It's kind of weird because Lars and I share the same birthday... along with Phil spector and ...
CHRIS DAUGHTRY!

Wow! I didn't know that one until just now. He was the American Idol contestant that just turned down singing for Fuel, and signed with Clive Davis' J records.

Do you think that's a sign?

I just happen to read about him signing today, and then I happen to find out he was born the same day as me (while fact-checking my assertion that Jimmy Buffet was born on Dec 26 as well - turns out he's actually a Christmas baby).

I always think that God or someone is going to greet me in the afterlife, and say something like, "Remember that time when you read that Chris Daughtry got signed, and then you found out that his birthday is the same as yours?"

"Yeah."

"Welllllllll, it was a sign! You'd only been playing music for 20 years. How could we have made it any clearer? You know you could have done a lot of good for the world making music, and using your influence for the good of humanity?"

Meanwhile, there's a group of angels and transients hovering around a tv watching the highlight reel of my life's most embarrassing moments. Good stuff!

You don't have to tell ME who Chris Daughtry is... hehe
Well, AG, if you have been playing music for twenty years, you are already making music and contributing to the good of humanity. If by a sign you mean it takes sharing the bdate to know in yourself that you have talent, then hey, IT'S A SIGN!!!!
If you aren't sharing your music and abilities, because you don't believe in yourself... well, that Capricorn energy certainly makes us shy about our abilities, but it also makes us strive for excellence so that by the time we DO share it, it's really good. I think even the worst musician who practiced for twenty years could perform in front of a group of people and do well. I'm positive you are being too hard on yourself. Don't allow any conservative or perfectionist tendencies stop you from following your joy and passion.

Soooo.... what's my first guitar playing tip????

Yeah, Lars is just a perfectionist and dedicated to the band (his career) and he is p.o.'ed that James is dedicated to his wife and children and is going to AA. I think Lars takes all the abuse from their old "fans" to heart too.

Well, I consider the sign to be more along the lines of: You could do this if you wanted- You have it in you.

Your first tip... hmmm... ensure that guitar you use is in good playing shape before you begin (if you haven't started). If the neck is out of alignment then it will never sound right, and you may get discouraged (though it wouldn't be your fault). It's not very costly to get repaired, either. There's a truss rod that runs inside the neck that can be tweaked to get the neck back into proper position.

Awwww! I hate that tip! I've already received that tip and had my beat up thrift store baby diagnosed with neck problems. I can't afford to get a new one right now, and the cost for repair on poor, sweet, Harmony out-weighs the price of a new one. The keys are loose too. It doesn't stay in tune very well and it's hard to tune it with an online tuner because the sound is a little off because of the neck, like you said. Well, I guess the time isn't right... that's ok, I can wait.

Well, what are you going to do about your sign, then?
