Sue G, I went through a similar thing with my parents. My mom died in her sleep of a heart attack after hosting a family dinner (which to my everlasting regret I didn't attend)I had to help my dad through this which was gut wrenching for me (they had been together 40+ yrs)I remember holding his hand late at night when he couldn't sleep....my dad, the rock, came as quite a shock to see him so vulnerable.... post more if you feel and maybe I can help you with how I dealt with it.. I really can't tell you what is worse.... people would tell me I was blessed that she didnt suffer.. but the pain of not being able to say goodbye and put our emotional affairs in order haunts me to this day. My father went that way quickly of a stroke 2 yrs later (cleaning a trout... his favorite hobbie) Then people had the nerve to tell me that the ones that God favors die peaceful deaths cause he wants them back..... Still the lack of closure and the suddeness and unexpected nature of the death rocks your world and makes you wonder what we can count on in this life..... Its been close to 20 yrs since then, and by now I can tell you I'm glad that's the way it happened.... so glad I didn't have to watch them die painfully... but I'm sure that's little comfort to you now, but in days to come I hope it will be.... I haven't been online for a while Sue G., but always felt a kinship somehow... hang in there.. we all love you.. guess embracing the circle of life/death is one of the most difficult things we can do... My prayers are with you - in time when you think of her you will smile with good memories but it took me a long time to get to that point... let the grieving process take it's course and dont rush it... I'm so sorry to hear that Sue. I had something similar happen with a close relative, very sudden and unexpected. When someone's sick for a while you have the time to prepare for it, but when it happens out of the blue it feels like something just hit you and it takes ages to sink in. Love you lots and I hope you and your father are well. I know you're a very spiritual person. Your mum is with you in spirit. That's the main thing that seen me through deaths. I feel the people's presence and I know they are there. It sounds like something people just say, but I really feel it (8th moon) and I know, being a Scorpio you would feel that connection. Try to keep positive.. Always remember the good things and nice memories you have of her, and it will put a smile on your face. Sending you love and prayers IP: Logged |
