You have indicated that 6 of the items are true of you.

Scoring:
If you answered more than fourteen of the questions as true of yourself, you are probably highly sensitive. But no psychological test is so accurate that an individual should base his or her life on it. We psychologists try to develop good questions, then decide on the cut off based on the average response.

If fewer questions are true of you, but extremely true, that might also justify calling you highly sensitive.

7/27

• I find myself needing to withdraw during busy days, into bed or into a darkened room or any place where I can have some privacy and relief from stimulation.

• I am deeply moved by the arts or music.

• I am conscientious.

• I startle easily. [clicked it anyway, but this is going away for me since taking anti-anxiety meds]

• When people are uncomfortable in a physical environment I tend to know what needs to be done to make it more comfortable (like changing the lighting or the seating).

• I am annoyed when people try to get me to do too many things at once.

• I try hard to avoid making mistakes or forgetting things.

Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise."

27/27 Own the book myself, it is a very informative read for those who score really high. Would highly recommend!

It really helped explain my sensitive, shy, reserved, aquarian nature that is really hard to deal with.

It didn't score mine, but I checked off all of them except: I don't mind being observed performing tasks, or being hungry, or being overloaded with caffeine. And I don't startle easily.

wow, I'm surprised they asked about the caffeine. I don't drink coffee, it's like redbull for me .
I startle easily, and I'm very sensitive to people's moods. I scored 26 but I really didn't see myself this sensitive.

I generally stay away from caffeine, but at DragonCon, I had to drink coffee a couple of times to stay up.

When I was in the fifth grade, my mom brought Elaine Aron's book to a parent teacher interview sort of as an aid to help my teacher understand me better. (I was such a highly sensitive child and school was just a nightmare for me)
In the end my teacher turned out to be one, as she resonated with most of it too. She was another Virgo.

I still am one today, yet as I've grown older I've become more sure of myself and my capabilities, so it doesn't bother me like it used to. Once an HSP, always an HSP.

A lot of info in this thread is really helpful and explains a lot. I'm definitely sensitive but took the test anyway, I only missed one the last question about being shy as a kid. It's good to know I'm not alone
