moral of the story:never trust farm animals! PS. couldn't the mouse just not eat the food in the trap? why not eat the pig's slop?

Wow,Some folks just don't get the concept of indifference. I found it thought provoking. Sometimes we could all use a bit of advice or a sympathetic ear; it's to bad the only caring one got the axe too. It is also ironic that the snake would have eaten the mouse, but the mouse was busy trying to warn the others. He was trying to help others & get help himself. I liked that story! ------------------ When the student is ready the teacher will appear. AKA - Kim Rogers IP: Logged |

Kim Rogers, are you for real? haha.I saw something totally different. I perceived the mouse as a drama mouse, wanting the other animals to somehow fix the mouses' situation. To me, the mouse seemed co-dependent and hysterical and hungry and wanted others to help change his situation. So was the mouse a crusader, trying to save the animals from thier eventual fate? I don't think so. Was the mouse seeking help, and if so,,,really. What would the other animals do? Go on strike? I believe in helping others when it's within your power to do so. There is wisdom in non infringement, wisdom in allowing others to find thier way. To me this story is not about indifference, but isn't it beautiful as human's we can perceive things so differently? Anyway, would you apply the same analogy if a gazelle out in the wild scurried around the serengetti & talked to the elephant, the hippo and giraffe crying out the Lions are staking out his bush? Besides, I don't like mice or rats in my house. I sympathize with the farmer. I cried when I had to kill/trap a rat over the summer. But he was nuisance eating my tomatoes we worked so hard to grow. And those lil f-ers even waited until they were just turning [pink]. I even left them/it one tomato to finsh off but NO.. it had to start in on another one. Rat facts: A rat can dislocate its shoulders to squeeze into a space the size of a quarter. A mouse, the size of a dime. When a rat or mouse is killed by a food trap, other mice/rats [thier friends and family] approach the dead adn smell it's breath to take note of what foods to avoid. (you have to change the food in the trap each time).. Rats/mice adore garages and will eat through electrical wires under the hood of your car to file thier teeth (because thier teeth never stop growing.)

Lovely,Yes I am for real; it was a STORY! I'm not such a bleeding-heart that I will let vermin in my house. That's unhealthy. I read an allegory. It was a tale of a mouse who, perhaps, thought that this may effect others, and he, himself, didn't know what to do about the situation. Many people in a panic might shout it from the rooftops as well. So what if it seemed "dramatic". It is interesting how so many people can read one story & get many different views from it. I guess that is what makes the world such an amusing place. ------------------ When the student is ready the teacher will appear. AKA - Kim Rogers IP: Logged |

1)The mouse was trying to save it's worthless butt, not warn others.2)the snake was never in the picture,it must've sneaked in at some point of time, the mouse didnt know about the snake It only knew about the snake when the snake was caught... 3)It's a good thing they all sit didnt sit and cry with the mouse cause they died soon, they atleast did more with their lives.. 4)they shoud've kicked the damn mouse into the trap, cause mice are horrible creatures who spread diseases, their sole purpose is to spread plague and exterminate the human race... 5)oh my god,I actually analyzed this story. Pigs, chickens, cows, donkeys, and other farm animals, you ROCK! P.S:what a dumb mouse...he knew where the trap was...why couldnt he just avoid it...if your intelligent enough to identify, your obviously intelligent enough to avoid it too....
