I am a voracious reader. Without a doubt, the best novel I have read in the past few years is "The Time Traveler's Wife." If you have not yet read it, you will thank me for the recommendation. And as soon as it's in print, I'll recommend my own novel to you. ------------------ Everything feels possible. The Olde classics are great.....(I love and re-read them often).....Wuthering Heights, David Copperfield, Pride and PrejudiceGreat Expectations. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Angels and Demons, and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown are good too, if you haven't read them, already.

My favorites are Romance, especially by Nora Roberts. Nora has a profound love of Ireland, and many of her stories are based there. I finished her last book "Valley of Silence" in one day! It is the final book in her Circle Trilogy (a circle of six charged by the Gods to defeat an evil Vampyre Queen). The first book is Morrigan's Cross. IP: Logged |

I haven't seen the movie but the book "Memoirs of the Geisha" was very good. Also, I think, you might like "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriele Garcia Marquez. It's an interesting metaphore which can be deciphered on several levels.IP: Logged |

If you like Indiana Jones / archeology / Egyptology themes, you'll love Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series, all set in Egypt. Start with The Crocodile on the Sandbank.Sunshine IP: Logged |

if anyone liked "Memoirs of a Geisha" you must read "Geisha, A Life" in the words of the most famous geisha Mineko Iwasaki. Its incredible. You will also notice that Arthur Golden interviewed her extensively, and is given credit for it in "Memoirs." He takes much literary license with events from her life. I love both these books.Clan of the Cave Bear series- they rock! I reread them about twice a year. The Outlander Series, by Diana Galbadon- this is the closest i will get to romance novels. But I am a sucker for Scots- and time travel! Anything by David Eddings- fantasy geeks, unite! I don't just read books- i devour them. I have read 20 books in two weeks, being on vacation- but I tend towards non-fiction. The ***** in the House and The May Queen- both great short story books about women. The May Queen is better. Can I get a job where all i do is read? LOL MK IP: Logged |
