I have a gas stove and oven. I turned it on today to make a pizza. as I opened the door to check the temperature, a basketball sized ball of flame erupted and quickly disappeared and the heat slightly singed my face but I am okay. still, I have no clue why this happened. everything else was turned off for the stove...I called maintenance and he said while he has never heard of this he said it could be possible there was a gas bubble under the oven somewhere..or something and it just sort of sat there until I turned it on. needless to say he is coming to check it out tomorrow. I have never liked gas stoves/ovens but nothing has happened for almost 3 months, until tonight.ever happen to you? anything serious? I continued to let it preheat and cooked the pizza and turned it off. fine. IP: Logged |

I love cooking with my gas oven, but it's never done that to me I imagine if it did that to me, I wouldn't like it as much.I hope it's just a weird sort of defect..... and never happens again! IP: Logged |
