ive never tried it but was offered it a couple of times. years ago while living down south with my old best friend, her boyfriend and some of his friends got into it. after hearing a few stories and then seeing what happened to her boyfriend one night at a party, i was not interested in trying it at all. they said 'it makes you trip out HARD for like 15 minutes, then it's over.' something like that. i dont remember the other stories i heard from them but it turned me right off to it.

while it seemed my friend didnt get past one of the lower stages, her boyfriend had quite an experience with it. i remember him lying on the couch staring at the ceiling, then suddenly laughing....a wierd laugh, nervous-like, then he sat up really quickly and started bawling his eyes out. he was staring at the lamp on the endtable, pointing at it, and trying to get some words out between sobs. i was kind of scared for him. after he 'came back' his mind was blown and was trying to explain the experience to the rest of us. all i remember is him saying he heard angelic music and voices over voices over voices - he couldnt make anything out, and that the light from the lamp was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.....

so that's my little salvia story, even though it wasnt really 'mine', just watching someone else's was pretty crazy. if it made this guy cry at a lampshade, i'm afraid of what it would do to me.

i guess it's legal? ...they got theirs from a headshop.

since youve decided you are going to experiment with it again, i hope you have a more pleasant experience....maybe do it around people you are more comfortable with or by yourself.
....or not at all! maybe try to reach other planes the old fasioned way.

in any case, just be careful
...and have a safe trip.

that doesnt sound like an unpleasant experience taurus. it reminds me of NDE and OBE experiences (see this website: www.nderf.org ). i wud do anything to see tht 'light' tht people see in NDE, u know. In my opinion the song by coldplay, 'speed of sound', refers to such altered states of consciousness.

it echoes my sentiments exactly. but i guess am too chicken to try out salvia. so i'll hafta patiently wait for my turn

ive had some intense obe's naturally, so i'm the type that should probably stay away from that kind of thing anyway. glad i did. though it still sparks curiosity in me....
kind of nice that it doesnt last that long, especially if youre having a bad trip.

But I was shouting out in my head Good God! Level 5 and level 6...that definitely sounds potent to me!

When I was in this holiday resort small town, I came to getting to know the "taste" of marijuana for the very first time because I was staying at this hostel with a bunch of guys in their twenties like me. I had always had a rigid perception about drugs, but there I just transformed into this completely different person whom for a moment I didn't know any more- I was so adventurous, and innocent, too. One night two of the guys asked me if I would like to try some heroin, and I said "Yes!" (oof!) Fortunately they replied "This is just weed, we f***ed with you!"

So I was lucky that they were kidding me.

Steve, what you've described upon the way you've been experiencing it- whatever it is- sounds like a roller-coaster ride going too fast and about to derail- to me. I mean this is how I'm trying to imagine it...for someone like me who generally would enjoy a roller-coaster ride, a ride gone too rapidly and beyond its mechanics would become frightening to me- I'm just talking about how I imagine I would feel, though

I agree with MysticMelody's suggestions for the alternatives. Steve, maybe you're yearning for getting closer to something, or someone, or the One...whoever or whatever that may be, please, talk to someone you can trust, okay? However I know this is only too easily said than done, especially when there seems to be no one to rely on and to speak to and to share...

I scanned the posts, so I might have missed some details, but-

Steve, it occurs to me that you're longing for getting closer to divinity, or a divine state...?

The last thing I'm about to quote may appear all irrelevant and even joking, but I'm not joking, and I'm trying not to sound like preaching either-

i hope i didnt sound callous in my last post. I AM worried about you steve. but i feel that you are wise and do understand the risks involved. so, at the end of the day, it is your choice.

I agree with you D, chocolat was such a beautiful movie, wasn't it? makes u just fall in love with the here and now.

but from wht steve said, i understand tht if done with precautions, salvia is not dangerous at all. it the risks tht r there r from the external environment, not from the physiological effects of the drug itself.
