Wha? .... *speechless.* You mean you ladies haven't given gaming a try?! You don't know what you're missing .Actually its a common misconception that the gaming world appeals only to the male gender . In 2005, about 29% of all gamers were females and that number has drastically risen since then. Though some females may disagree, the gaming industry has really helped in bringing out the independent female persona into the spot light (take video-game female protagonists like Lara Croft and Joanna Dark.) I recommend that the "game-a-phobic" female ( I kid, I kid Lol!) should visit this link: http://www.fragdolls.com/us/about.php Meet the Fragdolls , a girl gaming team that promoted the presence of Women in the gaming industry. They are quite a smart and talented bunch of ladies with very strong backgounds and credentials . So you see, gaming has evolved from the days of geeky, acne faced pointdexters that spent their weekend locked up in their basement playing Dungeons and Dragons . IP: Logged |

Z, did you miss my exclamation of "I want an XBOOOOOOOOX!!!!" ? Look who's buying into the women DON'T like video games stereotype!? And I love "geeky" DnD/rpg/gamers, I was one myself. The guys who really play are some of the smartest guys out there... Idiots who spend most of their time stoned and playing Grand Theft Auto in front of kids should not be allowed to reproduce.IP: Logged |

Mystic:My mistake "Doll" Lol! Nah! I don't buy that one bit. Some of the best I have gamed with happened to be Girls. Though still, personal pride does require me to say that they still play second fiddle to Numero Uno . I am not a D&D or an RPG fan . I especially avoid MMORPGs. I refer to em as "soul suckers" Lol! They just drain you life away. Grand Theft Auto is a game with no taste. Its like clobbing togather a Porno movie. All the usual negitives of society all trashed togather for your entertainment purposes. Metal Gear Solid is the best game I have ever Played. The story is so rich and deep and covers all aspects of the situation at Shadow Moses. There isn't a truly defined "bad guy" in the game at all since every one of them were victims of personal tragedy. The game puts major Hollywood blockbusters to shame. Edit: VTT. In the website link I provided about the fragdolls, you'll find a hyperlink to their forum page . You can request an online match with any of the dolls or the community members . IP: Logged |

I have a couple Metal Gears for Playstation, I think two... but I've never played them. I just picked a bunch of games up at a good price and figured I'd be bored enough to play them eventually. Sadly, I do no online gaming, I am too busy trying to get a bach degree while being a good mom and still finding time to waste here.... Little one is at the grandparents this weekend WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! But I like what you are saying about Metal Gear. Thanks for the info. IP: Logged |

MysticMelody:Oh you HAVE to play Metal Gear Solid (the first title in the series.) It is by far the most moving game you'll ever play (depending upon your personal taste offcourse .) You have to watch the trailer (though if you haven't played the first game in the series, there are quite a bit of spoilers.) http://www.gamershell.com/download_4903_preview.shtml Its so obvious that Solid Snake it a Scorpio Lol! Snake: "Liar! Your eyes wander. There is no confidence in them. The eyes of a Rookie." As for online gaming, I know what you mean. Besides, too much online gaming is bad for your social life Lol! Seems like these days people tend to forget the word "moderation." miss_muffet: I had a prievew play at it at the lauch party (though I'll admit, I am not a Nintendo fan.) The sheer unique interactive experience with this system however really hooked me Lol! The graphics of the game engines tuned for Wii aren't THAT spectacular (Especially if compared to the 360 and PS3.) However, the interaction and the mobility required to play games with Wii will DEFINATELY produce fewer couch potatoes Lol! My one little complaint with the system... ITS NAME! I can't stand it! Lol! I wrote a little muse on it a while back: quote: Wussy Console Names Rant time: Ok, call me old school, but I am used to Game Consoles having macho names. Take X-box for instance; It just screams manliness. X-box *Grrrrr* *Grunt* Very "X"treme. Not to mention the whole design makes it look like a find from some outer space meteor. So it kinda burns my spine to see the new designs by Nintendo to have such moronic geeky *Crook your eyebrow* type of titles. Nintendo decided to switch its original title "Revolution" to Wii. Wii?! What the hell?! Can you say Dorksville?! Seriously, gamers already have a bad rep. to be labled undateable losers. I beg to differ people. Some of the most hardcore gung-ho men I know are gamers. Just talk to our clan leader Lol! It seriously rubs me the wrong way to see bad marketing come in the way of good designs. My recommendation to Nintendo; Fire your "not-so-pimp" Marketing committee and bring in P-diddy. He'll fix things right up. "Nintendo - 9mm Biatch!"

Wow, great trailer - Halo's never looked so good! Are one of those kids supposed to be Master Chief?I used to play Halo when I was younger b'cause my brother forced me when he wanted a challange. Not that I didn't like playing it. I thought I was pretty good. I'm rusty as of now, haven't played if for two years. But I'm planning to pick it up again once Halo3 comes out - that's if I can get my hands on a new 360. The one my brother has needs fixing. quote: Wha? .... *speechless.* You mean you ladies haven't given gaming a try?! You don't know what you're missing.
Hey, I've been playing videogames since I was 5. But you're right, I guess it's becoming more popular with the ladies now. IP: Logged |

Leopricorn:Yep one of them is the Master Chief . Since you already have played Halo, you already know that he is the new generation Spartan, and as such he is genetically engineered and trained from an early age to be the best soldier he can be. And yep again on the gamer ladies part Lol! Like I said before, since more and more games conter their story behind a female protagonist, the more it attracts the female gamer market . VTT: You're quite welcome . IP: Logged |

Its not too hard to get accustomed to the game and the game play is just pure fun. Dashing hero, Vintage planes, Facists to stop Lol! All in all a perfect game to start off with for any rookies . X, I got to play WII this Christmas, played a game about Rabids. It was plunger shooting madness and another level was drumming with actual arm movement. I personally found it quite entertaining and thought it would be good for increasing activity for kids playing video games. Maybe Nintendo is going for the kid market and might do more manly/adult system in the future...?IP: Logged |

Oh coolness! So far I have yet to even touch a Wii let alone play it Lol! Have to write a little review on the darned thing for the Fragdoods.Wii as you said will obviously follow Nintendo's tradition and mostly make games geared for pre-teens rather than adults. Which is ok, but it won't do them much good if they want to stay competitive. From what I have heard though, they will be adding the Prince of Persia series to Wii , and let you have the option of using the Wiimote to control the sword swings of the Prince . If there is truth to this rumor... Oh I am so gonna get me a Wii LOL! (Big fan of Prince of Persia .) IP: Logged |

Alright, Alright I know this in an old thread but really, why make another one when one already exists. To the gamers out there: Hope you guys have an X-box 360 because you just HAVE to try Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. Its just... Wow Lol! Just makes me want to watch Top Gun over and over again Lol! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qyVeo4YVtE&feature=related Actually I got a virual Squadron up and running so if you got a 360 and the game, drop in an e-mail at otherlands[at]hotmail.com and then see if you got what it takes to join up with the Fortune Hunters EDIT: Or if you want, you can join up with an existing Squadron I belong to; The Sins and Saints. These guys are top notch and quite helpful if you are a newbie. Sooner or later though you will be required to hold your own. http://www.1up.com/do/club?clubid=7941 The Sins and Saints will be working incoherence with the Fortune Hunters but the FH have a more liberal option since the FH will be a mercenary squadron. That's right! My loyalty lies with those who have deeper pockets Lol! I joke. The Sins and Saints 1up page: http://www.1up.com/do/club?clubid=7941 IP: Logged |
