I seen this video I was extremely, atrociously disturbed and disgusted by it. I was fuming, so angry after i watched this video. i seriously felt like vomiting. I've only seen it once (halleluijah...} and its an animated video, but the characters do have a bit of definition to them. Now, I don't know the exact meaning of the video, but from the way I was looking at it, i felt that this particular video was degrading to the quality of life, i really feel that it tarnished things that we value everyday, and to me it kind of looked like this villan was destroying humanity, it looks like a complete nightmare, i was just so appalled! please, anyone, if i'm wrong about this, please correct me, and give your opinion.

Okay I think I was wrong, i think that "land of confusion" has to do with changing the world and flipping curropt systems and governments, right? (if so lets talk about it) ------------------

This is what I got from 1 viewing...the big fat guy, the evil greedy one, kind of represents all that is wrong in politics maybe? He looks a lot like Theodore Roosevelt, and I vaguely recall a political cartoon that I'm pretty sure was him in it and the scenario the common people in the video play out with the hooks and ropes to take him down. Also the symbolism surrounding that character is VERY similar to the swastikas used by the nazi regime. Very very evil, that character is, I think he represents destruction, no care for civilians, and greed. (Notice all the money that comes from him in the end).I'm not too sure what the big angry superhero guy with the hidden face was, seems like an underdog, a sort of revolutionary for the civilians. The overall video seems like it's portraying the greed and killing and murder of a lot of people in power, and kind of shows that normal everyday civilians need to rise up against these horrible behaviors so that civilization will be able to rebuild and money won't be so tightly held by greedly politicians. HmmmmKeeping in mind that Dave Dramon is a HIGHLY intelligent dude...have seen a few interviews with him..... I think it is an artist's expression of "a world of confusion" and how the power hungry, money monger was brought down by "superman..." The red eyes of superman in the end, is troubling, though, kept having thoughts of the antichrist myself. And I agree with virgotaurustaurus, the Nazi symbolism means something...maybe a controlling of the masses as did Hitler??? The antichrist thing is still bugging me!! IP: Logged |

I heard this song on the radio, and said to my husband..
Omigosh, my son and daughter will think these people wrote this song!
It was Phil Collins before he started doing the Disney thing.He and Peter Gabriel were incredible musicians.. right from Genesis onward. Total Nazi symbolism. I only just started watching so I can't comment... IP: Logged |

Dave Dramon is a brilliant brilliant man (lol im a bit biased Disturbed is my fav band) and his music is always meant to shock. Listen to the song Deify and Liberate. I think its very cool because it drives the point home and goes well with the lyrics. Remember the band is called Disturbed for a reason, its meant to get such a reaction. I watched it again with my social commentary hat on...When you watch the symbolism in context with the words, it's basically an outcry against the wars and horror that go on all around us..
The 'Nazi' sign is a money sign sideways, and the bigwig was destroyed ( big business that is the driving force behind most politics when you get right down to it) And it talks of overthrowing, not taking it anymore, "remember when" and taking it into your own hands, somewhat anarchistically. I liked it. Tradidional evil looking face was actually for the people. IP: Logged |
