FINALLY!!!!YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! March 19th!! Barely a Pisces and we compromised with an Aries moon! Elliot Lennon is here. Yesterday I went in to get the cervical gel. It was an outpatient procedure. I had effaced a bit more, so that was good, and I only needed one application. I did get somewhat crampy afterwards, but after weeks of this pre labour stuff, and him being eleven days 'late', I was cool with it, and slept no problem.
So I went into the hospital at 8 in the morning, was assessed and found to be three centimetres, and they broke my water to induce serious contractions at 8:47am. No meconium, all was well. I progressed a bit on my own, but they wanted more spicy contractions, so they did give me pitocin at around noon.
I progressed pretty quickly after that, walked around, bounced on my ball, and ended up having him at 2:47 pm. 6 hours exactly from the water breaking.
He is awesome!
So I had a hospital birth, but it was natural, as in no drugs, and just a little intervention to get things going, but not enough to interfere ( THANK GOODNESS!!!!)
.... because of the circumstances they let me check out shortly after the birth, as long as both of us were well, and we are!!! He is 7 pds 14oz ( not as big as I thought, but perfect for me!) 20 and a bit inches. I am walking on air.

Yeah, we had him at 2:47pm, went home a bit after six. That's what happens when you have midwives, and want a homebirth, and go eleven days after your due date. Compromise!!!We are both wonderful. They keep in very good touch, and wouldn't have let us go unless they weren't assured we were healthy and normal.

That makes my ovaries hurt.Even though I don't have any. I've always wished I could have children myself, but I've never identified with being a female. Your baby and children are PRECIOUS. The inherent happiness and innocence of children is truly a blessing. Congrats! IP: Logged |
