Stephen,May I humbly suggest that you find a trusted therapist to discuss these things with? Sometimes having a neutral individual to talk to helps more than anything else. All part of becoming stronger HSC.I actually thought it was interesting watching a Scorpio going through a phoenix transformation, thats how I see it. I've been through those kinds of things myself, and the realisation after is pure bliss once it settles in. I certainly have as much if not more respect for you than ever. Good luck my friend. Eagle medicine is the power of Great Spirit, the connection to the divine. It is the ability to live the realm of spirit, and yet remain connected and balanced within the realm of earth. Eagle soars, and is quick to observe expansiveness within the overall pattern of life. From the heights of the clouds, Eagle is close to the heavens where the Great Spirit dwells. The feathers of Eagle are consided to be most scared of healing tools. They have been used for centuries by shamans to cleanse the arura of patients coming to them for healing. Within the belief systems of Native American tribes, Eagles represent a state of grace achieved through hard work, understanding, and a completion of the tests of initiation which results in the taking of one's personal power. It is only thruogh the trial of experiencing the lows in life aswell as the highs, and through the trial of trusting one's connection to the Great Spirit, that the right to use the essence of the Eagle medicine is earned. If you have pulled this symbol, Eagle is reminding you to take heart and gather your courage, for the universe is presenting you with an opportunity to soar above the mundane levels of your life. The power of reconizing this opportunity may come in the form of a spiritual test. In being astute, you may recognize the places within your soul, personality, emotions, or psyche that need bolstering or refinement. By looking at the overall tapestry, Eagle teaches you to broaden your sense of self beyond the horizon of what is presently visible. In learning to fiercely attack your personal fear of the unknown, the wings of your soul will be supported by the everpresent breezes which are the breath of the Great Spirit. Feed your body, but more importantly your soul. Within the realm of Mother Earth and Father Sky, the dance that leads to flight involves the conqueringof fear and the willingness to join in the adventure that you are co-creating with the divine. If Eagle has majestically soared into yuor cards, you are being put on notice to reconnect with the element of air. Air is of the mental plane, and in this instance it is of the higher mind. Wisdom comes in many strange and curious forms and is always related to the creative force of the Great Spirit. If you have been walking in the shadows of fromer realities, Eagle brings illumination. Eagle teaches you to look higher and to touch Grandfahter Sun with your heart, to love the shadow as well as the light. See the beauty in both, and you will take flight like the Eagle. Eagle medicine is the gift we give ours-elves to remind us of the freedom of the skies. Eagle asks you to give yours-elf permission to legalize freedom and to follow the joy your heart desires. Contrary: If you have pulled Eagle in the reverse, you have forgotten your power and connectedness to the Great Spirit. You may have failed to reconize the light that is always available for those who seek illumation. Heal yuor broken wings with love. Loving yours-elf as you are loved by the Great Spirit is the lesson which the contrary Eagle brings. On some level, Eagle is telling you to seek higher ground on which to build your nest. the nest is the home of the heart and cannot remain in the swamp. If your nest is in a swamp, this may be connected to your belief that your wings are clipped by an impossibility in present status. Eagle's nest is high in the mountains, where the air is clean and the movement free. It may be your time for a Vision Quest so that you can commune with the Great Spirit. Fasting and prayingwill surely bring an answer. Seek lofty ideals, and illumination will be close at hand. By Jamie Sams IP: Logged |

Thanks for posting that, Solane. Great stuff!Fayte, The Eagle The eagle is a sacred messenger, carrying our prayers to the Creator and returning with gifts and visions for the people. Eagle feathers aid medicine people in calling on this connection when they need to contact spirit for healing. Eagles are majestic birds with a powerful presence. Although they can be social birds they do require isolation from human encroachment to breed in the wild. If a human strays to close or touches their nest, they are likely to abandon it. Both male and female incubate the eggs and share in the duties of raising its young. The eagle is incredibly patient. Often seen perched in a tree maintaining the same position for hours at a time, eagle teaches those with this totem how to master the art of patience in every area of their life. Within the energy of patience "all things are possible." Eagles are good at feeding themselves from the land and still soar to great heights in the sky. They teach us how to move through life without becoming attached to anything. They show us how to accept what comes our way and see everything as a gift from great spirit. They have excellent hearing and can hunt as much by ear as by sight. To those to whom eagle comes, the ability to hear spiritually and psychically will awaken Eagles have sharp beaks and strong jaws. They remind us to pay attention to our speech and how it affects others. Our words as well as the tone of our voice should be examined. Eagle asks us to maintain a prayerful connection with Spirit, to keep our minds focused on what is important in life. Maintaining this attitude removes judgement from our consciousness. Without judgement we speak with encouragement and kindness towards others. Lessons associated with judgement are part of this medicine. Eagles have excellent vision. Perched high in a tree they appear to analyze and observe everything. If Eagle has blessed you with its presence in some way, you are being given potent gifts of clarity and vision to use for the good of all people helping to bring forth the light out of the darkness. Eagle also serves as a reminder to those with this totem to communicate with Great Spirit daily so the gifts Eagle offers you can be utilized fully. http://www.sayahda.com/cyc2.html IP: Logged |

That orangy picture of the firey eagle is cool. It kind of reminds me of the fact that people always associate Scorpio with being a Fire sign. Has anyone found this? I think Scorpios are firey, and i think it's one of the mysteries that still remains. I mean it was ruled by Mars before Pluto was discovered. I think this duality personifies the fire within a Scorpio underneath the cool icy exterior. Hard one to fathom really. What do others think about the element that rules Scorpio? You lot in the US have been introduced to Gordan Ramsey the chef right? They do not come more firey than that guy! Although i first heard he was a Sagittarian, i recently am informed he is a Scorpio. ------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Southampton U.K IP: Logged |

MCM - Interesting point about Scorpio seeming more like a fire sign. It's kind of like everyone seeing Aquarius as a water sign.I think Scorpio is in the right place with the water element. However, I DO think it retains much of the Mars energy, and it is without a doubt the FEISTIEST of all the water signs. When I think of a typical Scorpio person though, they are usually a far cry from the typical fire sign personality. They do not mind solitude, and in fact welcome it. They are dark, deep, and magnetic. You would not likely see a Scorpio throwing a temper tantrum like an Aries that just got into a car wreck, or see them bouncing around the room with endless optimism and joy (which I love don't get me wrong) like a Saggie. I've also noticed that Scorpios need time to brood. If a conflict has come up, it is BEST not to push it with them. Fire signs welcome confrontation and want to sort things out here and NOW! Scorpio needs to ponder it for a while...I made a big mistake with that once and allowed my fiery side to get the best of me...pushed my Scorpio ex too far. LOL...Oh well, live and learn. They are definitely watery though. IP: Logged |

Yes interesting. Although i think the water association with Aquarians is more superficially connected with their symbol the water carrier, and the phonetics of the actual word 'Aqua'-rius, that causes this association amongst lamens. Whereas Scorpios get their firey reputation from their idiosyncratic firey tendencies. Lamens probably interpret this 'fireyness' as having it's source in Fire, when in actual fact it's birthplace is deep emotion (Water). Thanks for responding. ------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Southampton U.K IP: Logged |

MCM, yes the Aqua association is more superficial, I must agree. And you are right about the deep emotions...especially when you consider that the general rule of thumb is that fire and water are emotional where earth and air are analytical. The difference I see in the emotional dynamics of fire vs. water is that I believe with fire the emotion has more of a physical assosiation. With water emotion is more internal and spiritual. I can see where this would create confusion when looking at Scorpios, since they are very physical as well as emotional. IP: Logged |

Forgiveness brings joy "The greatest evil that can befall man is that he should come to think ill of himself." -- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe Do you feel worthy of having joy? Do you feel you deserve it? The first step to activating our inner joy is to eliminate the blocks to it. We can start by truly forgiving ourselves and all others. Forgiveness calls for a shift in our perception. It is easier to forgive ourselves and others when we really understand that each of us has always done the very best we knew to do at that time. "If we don’t forgive ourselves for our mistakes, and others for the wounds they have inflicted upon us, we end up crippled with guilt. And the soul cannot grow under a blanket of guilt, because guilt is isolating, while growth is a gradual process of reconnection to ourselves, to other people, and to a larger whole." -- Joan Borysenko IP: Logged |
