carl, ...thank you for replying, but just adding to the list doesn't help unless you explain, i have no problem getting an eye shadow close to my skin tone, is that what you were suggesting?IP: Logged |

The answer to this would also depend on your skin tone too you know. Like I know once in the 8th grade I had a habit of putting on gold eye shadow and while it looked good with my eyecolor, because of my skintone it made me look like a clown.IP: Logged |

Hi Neptune, how are ya girl?!Now yer talkin my language! I'm a make-up artist If I recall correctly, you had said somewhere else that your skin is pretty dark, is that right? If so, then the darker shades will actually look more subtle and natural on you. If you want to make your eyes stand out, for say a night time look, then a metallic gold would be stunning. For a day time look that would make your eyes stand out you can do any light pastel-ish shade. What's your favorite color? Anyone can wear any color just sometimes a particular shade of said color might be needed. Take purple for example (my favorite). Try to find a light non sparkley, matte pastel purple. Line your upper eyelashes 1st with a white eyeliner. Smudge it in a bit with your finger or brush. Then layer the eyeshadow over the white liner and up into your crease. Blend, blend, blend! Leave the area under your brows bare for day or add a shimery highlighter for night. Pick colors that you are drawn to because you will feel good, and that's key. ------------------ `Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

hexxie, thanks for the help, but no my skin is not pretty dark, its as medium toned as someones skin could get, when you look it me, its not light, and its not dark, i'm just a warm undertoned medium brown skinned person. I do have yellow warm undertones since i was jaundiced as a baby.I know i do need matte makeup because my skin is rich in sebum. check this website, you can kind of get a feel for my tone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Shades_of_brown if you look at the brown shade, my skin is a bit lighter than that, with more warmer, yellow undertones, favorite color? well I like purple too, but i also admire dark reds, pinks look good on me too. ------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "Our passions are not too strong, they are too weak. My eyes are med-dark brown...too! My skin tone is on the darker side of beige... "Almay" has color sets that enhance eye color.. For Brown: It is the purple family. They have shadow, eyeliner and even mascara that are designed to go together...IP: Logged |

i read somewhere that women are supposed to choose an eye shadow color that enhanced their skin undertones, i have warm undertones, so i should choose gold, ivories, and browns, right?IP: Logged |
