I love this quote from "Harvey" by Edward P. Dowd

"In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant."

Love him too!! One of my favorite movies of his is " Phildelphia Story" with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant.

Jimmy Stewart once said that in every movie he was in with Cary Grant, Grant always got the girl.

Two of my most favorite movies of James Stewart are both Alfred Hitchcock films:

Vertigo with Kim Novak and my very favorite Stewart movie, Rear Window with Grace Kelly.

In Rear Window James Stewart is in his apartment seated at a window in a entire leg cast from a break and witnesses what he feels is a neighbor murder his wife, cut her up and bury her in the courtyard flower beds. He cannot move from his seat without his girlfriends and nurses help and they all three get drawn into the intrigue when the neighbor looks up one day and discovers that perhaps Stewart has witnessed his crime. Great movie!! Very suspenseful. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Jimmy is one of my favorite old school actors. 'Rear Window', 'The Man Who Knew Too Much', 'The Rare Breed', 'The Far Country', are favs just to name a few. My fav is the original 'Flight of the Phoenix'. My fav line of his is right after they crash in the desert, and are burying a couple of guys who didn't survive. Someone holds out a Bible to Jimmy and asks "Would you like to say a few words?" Jimmy replies with a hard stare and says, "What do you expect me to say, sorry?" and walks off.

My husband played Uncle Nick Devlin in a stage version of it! I have it on tape.
