Namaste everyone. After being MoonChild for over 4.5 years, after much thoughts, I have decided to bid farewell to MoonChild and embrace a new name that suits my life, mind and character after all the lessons life taught me, and hence I would be SattvicMoon from now on. The Child part and the 666 part was irking me for sometime now. Yeah, the same old Moonie though! A person or creature can be called sāttvika if the creature has predominantly sāttvika tendencies.A sāttvika individual always works for the welfare of the world. He is always hardworking, alert and lives life moderately. He leads a chaste life. He eats moderately. He speaks the truth and is bold. He never uses vulgar or insulting language. He does not feel jealous nor is he affected by greed and selfishness. He does not cheat or mislead anyone. He does not even allow any evil tendencies to enter his mind. He has good memory and concentration. He also has keen interest in improving his spiritual knowledge, and spends time worshiping god or meditating. In the extreme state he may even perform penance or uninterrupted meditation. A satvic individual can be recognized if his mind, speech and actions synchronize. Thank you everyone for welcoming the "new" me! hahahahaWell, I was always spiritual, and with the teachings life offered of late, I have got connected with something within me. After all the insanities of life and hardships, since last november, the Universe has started to open up and bless me, so it is all good. But what I was within, I couldn't relate with the MoonChild persona, which I chose from the Iron Maiden song of the same name. That is why I decided to change it, but has been pondering for a name since February. Being a Hindu, I also got connected with the age old wisdom, and after lot of pondering, I felt Sattvic is what best suited me. I also changed it to be accountable, and better myself. Let's see how things go! Thanks one and all. ------------------

I sometimes think about changing my screen name because I feel that some folks here at LL think that Mirandee is my real name. It's not. My real name is Connie. Mirandee was the name of my beloved kitty who died shortly before I joined LL. It would seem disloyal to her memory to change it so I guess it will always remain the same. IP: Logged |
