I had forgot who Rod Stewart was.

Then I watcthed that video and regretted it. LOL No offense.

I"m with AG on this one, his music is cheesy and makes me wanna bury my head in a hole.

Also AG, ur right, APC>tool. Tool is a bit too raw for me. APC is more melodic and organized.

Thanks for that one, Star.

It gives me the goosebumps too. An old gospel song that Stewart updated. Very spiritually uplifting song.

No offense taken, BR. From my experience as a long time Rod Stewart fan it seems that on the most part he appeals more to women than men.

But apparently not more than Don Teschner.

Star depending on what year that Unplugged album came out you may be right about the age thing.

LOL Star. I love his singing voice and his music but physically Rod Stewart never appealed to me. He is too skinny.

Nice looking face he has though.

The kitty is kind of skinny too. But cute.

My cats are so big they would eat that little guy thinking it was a mouse.

YOU'RE IN MY HEART (The Final Acclaim)
(Rod Stewart)

I didn't know what day it was
when you walked into the room
I said hello unnoticed
You said goodbye too soon

Breezing through the clientele
spinning yarns that were so lyrical
I really must confess right here
the attraction was purely physical

I took all those habits of yours
that in the beginning were hard to accept
Your fashion sense, Beardsly prints
I put down to experience

The big bosomed lady with the Dutch accent
who tried to change my point of view
Her ad lib lines were well rehearsed
but my heart cried out for you

Chorus:

You're in my heart, you're in my soul
You'll be my breath should I grow old
You are my lover, you're my best friend
You're in my soul

My love for you is immeasurable
My respect for you immense
You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness
You're beauty and elegance

You're a rhapsody, a comedy
You're a symphony and a play
You're every love song ever written
But honey what do you see in me

(Chorus)

You're an essay in glamour
Please pardon the grammar
but you're every schoolboy's dream
You're Celtic, United, but baby I've decided
You're the best team I've ever seen

And there have been many affairs
Many times I've thought to leave
But I bite my lip and turn around
'cause you're the warmest thing I've ever found

(Chorus)

~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~
~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~
~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~

For you Weeseldad and all the others here on the thread who said they liked Maggie Mae.
http://www.veoh.com/videos/e116082NZ6DxKgR

I only picked this version from the Unplugged and Seated tour because Don Teschner is in it too.

lol I had to reply to this. I never cared for him much either in the disco days. But I love his older stuff like Maggie May, You Wear It Well, First Cut etc. It reminded me of a story one time in the disco era and his Do Ya Think I'm Sexy was popular and he was on American Bandstand or some show like that and my dad walked in the room and says "What the **ll is that!! lol

LOL I can picture that with your dad, Melanie.

I like the classic Rod Stewart music best too. When he was with Ronnie Wood and Faces. I also like some of the music he did later on. I had the Footloose and Fancy Free" album. Liked the song Hot Legs a lot. I didn't like Do You Think I'm Sexy though. Not crazy about the old tunes he is doing now.

Rod Stewart, like most artists, go through different phases with their music. They like to try different things and sing different types of songs.

I didn't like the phase of his music career when he wore make-up - lipstick and eye make-up. I think that is where some people got the notion and the rumors began that he was gay. He might have been bi-sexual for all I know ( or cared ) but I know he definitely liked women. LOL

If you really like the old songs, check this original version of "Downtown Train" by Tom Wait. The video is weird, but he can sing. http://www.youtube.com/watchv=PHyvjdn4rFk

Thanks, weeseldad. I have heard Tom Wait's version of Downtown Train before. He has been around a very long time.

Tom Wait wrote Downtown Train and originally did the song. It was not quite the hit that Rod Stewart's version of the song was though.

Depends on our music taste I guess. I never really cared for Tom Wait's gravelly voice or his singing style. He's definitely weird but that was not the turn off for me. Iggy Pop was weird and so was Alice Cooper but I was a fan of both of them. It was mainly Wait's gravel, growling type of voice that I never cared for. Though there were a couple of songs of his that I liked.

Thanks back at you Mirandee. I think that I like him because I have always liked that low voiced hard blues style of music. Rod did take that song to a new level. I'd like to see what he could do with a couple of other Tom Waits songs. Like "Rain Dogs" or "Gun Street Girls" Might be fun.

Let me try this. I'm not sure if using this as a link will work or not. I'll fix it if it doesn't:

Maggie May sang with some vigor!

Sweet! It works!
