I think my crush is waning. LOL This is a recent picture of Don Teschner. I am thinking that maybe if he lost that awful beard he might still look pretty good for his age. It's weird because when he released Swamp Rock Blues in 2003 he still looked great and that was only 4 years ago. Maybe it's the beard and the fact that he now looks like a redneck. Maybe he drank too much and did too many drugs. I dunno. LOL What do you guys think? Doesn't even look like the same guy and age alone doesn't make us look so completely different than when we were younger. Oh, that's Don Teschner on the left.  IP: Logged |

Yeah, Star  One of us can hold him down while the other shaves him. I never really went for the ZZ Top look.  I'm not good at guessing people's ages but he looks to be in his late 40's or early to mid 50's. I am going by the fact that he has some lines on his face now and his hair is not grey yet. Then again at 63 my husband's hair is only just slightly greying. I found a web site for his country/rock band that he has now, the Barbed Wire Boys, and at the site you can email him. He has an email address where people can contact him. Maybe we should email him and tell him to lose the beard. LOL Read some bios on him. None give his birth info but he has played with and toured with some of the really greats in both rock and country music. Besides being in Rod Stewarts band and touring with him for 5 years he has played with Eric Clapton and many others. He has made at least a couple of albums of his own and always gets very good reviews. He is very musically talented. Plays a wide array of instruments. Obviously he is not the vain, conceited type and doesn't dress with flair. I do like that about him. At least he still has his hair. Too much of it!! LOL IP: Logged |

Me too, Fayte. Some guys look great in beards. Kris Kristofferson looked even better in a beard than clean shaven. But like you said, not that type of beard. No,no,no. It has to go. IP: Logged |

I shouldn't be so critical of him. Some of the guys that have had crushes on me in my youth probably would feel the same way if they saw me now. LOL Sometimes it's best like you said, Zala. Just keeping the image of him as he was in the past is better. Actually he's not that bad looking still. He would probably clean up real good. IP: Logged |

He IS a nice-looking fella!! Tall 'n lean is my fave And those hands -- betcha he could play *any* instrument I generally love beards -- but not the long scraggly ZZ Top kind. Now Gandalf, that's a different matter Let's remember him as he was.....

LOL, Zala. I see you noticed the hands too. And yes, he could. Definitely he has the fingers made for guitar. I tried learning the guitar when I was young. Bought one and practiced every day. But I have small hands and short fingers. Could never get the frets right. IP: Logged |

Hair can rarely be too long or too much to me! Unless a guy is "naturally" and beautifully bald!
It is the rare fellow to me who looks good with short hair.(I mean like too short to lay down, like under 3 inches or so.) I love bald but only naturally! No shaved heads with rare exception! Like Vin Deisel. But most guys look like zippy the pin head to me. Detest flattops and crews. Or grease messes.

LOL Star. Bald heads do look good on some guys. My ex son in law shaved his head and he looked great. Then think of Yul Brenner. He looked fabulous with a bald head. He was a sex symbol of his time in fact. I like long hair on guys too, Fayte. I was referring to the beard. But, I also like short hair on men as well. Depending on the cut. I also like chest hair on men and hair on the forearms. As long as they don't look too gorilla or cavemanish. You know that commericial on T.V., I think it is for Geico, with the cavemen? They have the hair and teeth bit going and I actually think it looks cute on them. LOL Call me weird. Don Teschner seems to love playing his music. A true musician. Because he must have made some big bucks in his career and yet he still dons jeans and T-shirts and has a little band and seems to love going to country bars and playing so folks can dance. He even does car shows and things like that. Seems he likes to party and play his music. I admire that in him. Seems very down to earth and just loves making music. Maybe he is a Virgo instead of a Cancer. One thing I have learned is that if I have an immediate, instant attraction to a man it seems to always turn out he is either a Virgo or a Cancer. Normally I don't go for the pretty boy type. There has to be something else. Animal magnetism. That's what I notice and I in this case Teschner just oozed that in his younger days. Probably still could. But I think music is his true love. I get the feeling how he looks doesn't matter that much to him and I sure he has had a lot of groupies in his time. Plus like Zala, I love the long, lean legs on a man, medium height to tall. In all the pictures I have seen of Don Teschner lately he seems to stand out in a crowd. He towers over everyone so he is well over 6 ft. tall. IP: Logged |
