This is what I replied to the DHMO site question:I read the "Controversy" link and the "FAQ" and my initial thoughts are
that it is quite humorous. I like how in this next quote from the
"Controversy" link, they compare the EPA to the Mob because the EPA said
in a letter:
>>>>>>>>>>
" * "I hope you see our point of view",
* "We take our mission of protecting the environment seriously", and
* "We consider this a serious matter and would appreciate your help."
Some may find these heavy handed statements shocking. The wording of the
EPA's correspondence with the researcher are filled with these sorts of
anachronisms; one would expect such talk from a movie gangster, but not
from a taxpayer-funded agency of the United States government."
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
LOL yes, quite "shocking". hehe
I don't know, this just struck me as funny and the FAQ is even more
humorous. It would be hard to take these people seriously even if what
they are attempting to uncover is a serious threat.
I read what a couple other students posted about DHMO basically being
water or a part of water which made the FAQ explaining all the places it
could be found even more hilarious to my cynical eye. WHAT?!? It is
used by the sporting industry to IMPROVE PERFORMANCE!!!??? lol And in
BABY FOOD???? The monsters!!!!!
The fact that it "contributes to soil erosion" and that it "Leads to
corrosion and oxidation of many metals" is really funny if it is just a
microscopic chemical found in water. This one made me burst out laughing:
"Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks."
This one:
"by both the KKK and the NAACP during rallies and marches,"
pretty much gave them away, but I might have still wondered if they
hadn't followed that one up with that it was also used in WWII by
Hitler, and by golly, now by "by many terrorist organizations including
al Quaeda".
I'm pretty sure my Grandma uses it too. Somebody should lock her up.
(I'm not saying if I use it... shhhhhhhhhh)
I don't know, I'll read more, but like I said, it would be pretty hard
to take these people seriously even if what they were attempting to
uncover was something serious.
