The Oyster
There once was an Oyster whose story I tell,
Who found that some sand was inside his shell
Just one little grain, but it gave him great pain!
For oysters have feelings, though they all seem so plain.
Now did he berate the workings of fate.
Which had led him to such a deplorable state?
Did he curse out the government—call for an election,
And cry that the sea “should have given protection?”
No! He said to himself as he lay on the shelf,
“Since I cannot remove it, I’ll try to improve it.”
The years rolled along, as the years always do,
And he came to his ultimate destiny—stew!
And the small grain of sand that had bothered him so,
Was a beautiful pearl, all richly aglow!
The tale has a moral, for isn’t it grand.
What an oyster can do with a morsel of sand?
What couldn’t I do if I’d only begin,
With all those things that “get under my skin!”

That's what grace does with the sands in our life! As Bono says, "grace makes beauty out of ugly things."

That song is so powerful.
I feel like I discovered it at just the right time.
Actually, the entire CD.
It's so magical how that happens.
And it's strange, because I've always been a huge U2 fan and I've gotten every CD as soon as it came out, but this one "All That You Can't Leave Behind", I just discovered, even though it came out a few years ago.

This one is my favorite.
I know you'll understand and will feel it as deeply as I do.

I get so emotional around, " YAY GIRLS "!!!!

A GOOD CRY is so VERY CLEANSING & PURIFYING for MY SOUL!!!!

Lialei your sharing of your emotions & feelings though your musical taste thoughout the last year or so has really touched me to the core of my SOUL!!!!!

It has taught me how to truly feel all my emotions, to embrace them, until they let go. I use to just bottle them all up inside, push it all down, until I exploded and lashed out at others. I was rasied to not feel, because that was showing weakness!!!!! HAD TO BE TOUGH!!!! NO HEART or SOUL CONNECTION THERE!!!!!

I just don't know what I was going to do at first with all these feels that came to the surface all at once, so it seemed?????? ALOT of them down there!!!!LOL!!! Boy can this GIRL FEEL NOW!!!!

Your SONGS so REACHED MY SOUL & HEART, CONNECTED!!!! Taught me how to connect to my own heart & really feel for once!!!!

I know you don't realize just how much your HEART SONGS have affected my life!!!! I have even started to enjoy all my feelings, how scary is that?????LOL!!!
