So your friendly neighbourhood Xie just donated blood again; Its sort of a monthy ritual now; Not to mention my local clinic isn't shy to remind me the importance of giving blood every other week Lol! I am an O- which makes me a Universal donar and man I gotta tell ya folks, most O- people guard their viens very closely . I particualrly hate needles; I would rather take a bullet... Atleast it goes in VERY quickly. I swear I seriously am starting to believe that the donar clinic nursees live a double life as dominatrixes cause they are such sadists at heart... jabbing that dip needle in ever so slowly Lol! Anyway, point of the thread; I just wanna secure myself a living blood bag if I get into a serious accident . I joke. Just curious to know the blood types out there. Just random info: Just as a random input, the Japanese pop culture incorporates the use of blood types as pickup lines LOL! "Hey... I am an O- darlin; Yep... I am in demand babe." IP: Logged |

A- I went to donate blood once....they tried in vain to find a vein After having waited repeatedly for different people to come after my blood in vain, I couldn't be bothered to wait any more....the whole thing makes me rather squeamish anyway...Well, I'm a rare blood type so maybe I'll go back another time when I'm no longer nursing my youngest son! I'm type 'A'(my brother wrote in a card to me "trust you to be A negative" LOL) and I LOVE peace and harmony but rarely get it....I do suffer from stress too, so I keep meaning to get in touch with a local Yoga class or something....it's a must now. This reminds me of something....That episode of Seinfeld where Kramer decides to quit keeping his blood at the blood bank and in his fridge instead was hilarious IP: Logged |

I am A+ and the definition above fits. The last time I gave blood I got dizzy and passed out. lol True! But it wasn't so bad because they gave me cookies and juice and I got to lay down on a cot for an hour. IP: Logged |

Actually being anything but O types isn't so bad. O- have it hard actually. O- are what are refered to as "Universtal Donars" since they can match any other blood type and their Rh. However, an O- blood type person can only recieve blood from another O- type. So being an O- means you can give but do expect a dry spell when you do need it for yourself Lol! IP: Logged |

B +ive I never realized it was just 8% of population... (I thought it is one of the most common group).... No worries still all the B+, B-, O+, O- can give me blood if needed... .... and the descritpion is qte fitting... esp "independence" being a weakness... TRUE to a T.
............ Is there any variation based on being B+ive or B-ive etc,,, or it applies same.. wht do Japanese say about it ???? IP: Logged |
