quote:
Here I am a new member looking for answers and hoping that the people in here may have some light to shed into my life and why is it that I even exist, but, when it comes down to it "you" (all of you) can't even show me that you have some answers for me, but also you can't even get along with each other?

I'm sorry you feel that way, Nelly. But maybe *we* can't give you any answers. Imo, the only people we can really and truly get answers from is ourSelves. I'm not here to present my truth to others so that they believe me and follow my ideas. And I didn't think anyone here was looking for any version of that, either. I share what I believe, think I know and feel in the hopes that I'll expand my own knowledge, wisdom and experience through discussions with others who are, hopefully, equally open. If you keep looking for others to "give you answers" I think, sadly, you'll just be disappointed.

We've all worked very hard, I think, to come to the realizations we have about Life and our lives and everything else. We don't all agree. We aren't perfect little machines without feelings. We interact, we disagree, we argue, we get angry ... and, for the most part, we stick it through and we learn. Sure, standing on the outside, we might look like a bunch of crazies who don't live up to our ideals. I don't believe we hold ourselves to those high standards and beat ourselves up for our errings ... we try to live up to them every day and hopefully get better over time.

And maybe being held up to up other people's "higher standards for spirituality" and being expected to have a hold of these answers or that truth for x number of people is what's most unfair to begin with.

NAM, but there is nothing to feel sorry about. We are all entitled to our own opinions, our own emotions and ideas and beliefs...... so long it lingers with us and does not cause chaos for others. With the reach and influence of internet, real life and virtual life doesn't have much difference.

It is not disagreement that causes problems, but when one person's belief's and opinions are forced upon......

NAM,

I called opinions of some inane. I called into question actions not people. Why is it so hard for some to accept that one can put down or criticise the actions of a person but not harbor ill will towards that person? People always try to turn it into a "personal" attack on ones character.

As to your post. You called this online community stupid and alleged it was falling apart, while making fun of it. Yet, you just said you are looking for answers from this online community. Why do you seek to find why you exist from a community that you think is stupid and in disrepair?

I did not single you out as the only newbie. IN my experience when several senior members are in a tiff (which happens from time to time and being on old timer does not mean we have special status) new people try to jump in to tell them how to act. Would reasonable people do that in real life? If you saw two people in a heated discussion in a restaurant would you be inclined to sit at their table to tell them they should stop talking? No.. that would be absurd. Yet people feel so inclined to jump in and post their opinion on people when they don't know the background.

I still harbor no ill will towards you but I do think it would be a good idea to review your post and see how you bashed this community and talked about how selfish others can be yet you wanted to find answers concerning your own life and existance. We are all human beings and can be self-centered. I am by no means a spiritually enlightened guru. I am just a person like everyone else.

Pid-

great post, as always.. nice to see you back (I was wondering why I hadn't seen you here) and best wishes for the move.

I think that Mirandee and Zala do a fantastic job of moderating the insanity of FFA.

That is all.

Haven't posted on here in ages, but I've read recent posts around here. They make me sad. They make me not want to post at all. I do want to share my sentiment on this, however. NOT to incite anything further, but just because I need to say it for ME, if nobody else.

Mirandee and Zala, you are doing as fine a job as anybody, and a good sight better than many could do on here. Rock on.

Peace.

Hi MK,

Nice you see you too How are you feeling these days? We are pretty busy getting ready for Germany but we're almost done. I'm nervous, excited and happy all at the same time ..Bear is a trooper though and has really worked hard to get things in order. It's nice being with someone that helps out so much.

Hugs,

Hi Pid!!!! Happy to see you back at LL and I'm really looking forward to having you back in about a week for good.

Thank you for your words, Pid and all of you who have shown your support for Zala and myself as mods. It's appreciated any time but at this time it is appreciated beyond words. It made me cry when I read your words, Pid and saw you here when you have so much going on in your life with the move and all. It touched me that you took time out of your busy life at this time to do that. But knowing the kind of person you are it does not surprise me.

What you said about that thread from GU from over a year ago that Lotus posted is very true, Pid. But you know, when Lotus posted that I thought that the only thing she proved is that you and I are both very forgiving people who don't hold grudges. We were once adversaries and really got into some cat fights. If we both were not forgiving people or if we were the type that held grudges we could never have bridged that gap between us and become friends.

Isn't it funny how some people in their own need to judge others based on little or no information can so often overlook the obvious? LOL

I am not going to be too tough on NAM - even though she came on this thread judging me based on nothing but assumptions - because recently her brother died and I know she is still hurting from that.

Others here are right though, NAM. We can't show you the way. Everyone has their own path and their own journey in life and it is a path just designed for you to travel alone and find your own way down that path. It is that way for all of us. If we knew the way we would take you home. But we are all seekers too. Like Pid said. None of us here at LL are gurus or sages or saints. We are all just people.

Just want to add. Regarding Rainbow. Rainbow was a wonderful, beautiful soul. But she was not a saint and she wouldn't like anyone attempting to make her into a saint. Rainbow was a strong, high-minded, woman who fought for her principals. Rainbow could get down in the trenches at GU too. She was, like all of us multi-faceted.

Her son Tommy and I laughed like crazy over that email he sent to my box that I posted about here. He was just clearing out her email box and thought he would send each of her friends an email from her that she had saved as a momento. He selected the emails without reading them. That email he sent to me I recognized very clearly because it was sent just before her collapse at home. In it she was venting about something that happened at GU as only Ginny could vent. LOL Yes people she did swear. I told Tommy what she said in the email and that the email is so like your mom and he said yes it is. Ginny was just a person like the rest of us and not afraid to let anyone know how human she was. Those who are veterans of GU know this about Rainbow/Ginny.

She was a multi-faceted complex human being like all of us and no one should be judged on one moment of their life when they failed to be what others thought they should be. Because we all fail. We all have those moments in our lives and we are all weak human beings trying to find our way. No one should be judged just because they don't live up to our expectations of them. Or because they don't do it our way.

Love Rainbow for all she was but don't put her on a pedestal. She probably wouldn't be very comfortable there.

10000 Maniacs!!!!

Peace Train - in my tribe

Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come

Cos out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller
Everyone jump on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cos it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train, peace train

Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss

Cos out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now the peace train
Yes peace train holy roller
Everyone jump on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on, come on, come on
Yes come on peace train
Yes it's the peace train
Oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train
Oh peace train

It is not about me and it is not about my brother, is about teh world as a whole.
Can you see everything is so f*cked up and we bring this onto ourselves in many forms and levels.
Is not about Lotus, Fayte, Mirandee or anyone in particular, is about all.

I have never taken anyone's opinion as gospel, thanks to my dad I learn that very early in life, then he tried to trick me as an adult when he said we couldn't change the world, I thought he was just trying to protect me when he said that, maybe he just feels is too much for one person, maybe this is why I say that starts with one person, with us.
That is all the point I was trying to make, people just walk away from situations and create judgements, grudges and false realities to not face their fears.

It happens everywhere.
That is all, you guys can go back to your charades , copy and paste someone else's words, suggest books to people to "find" answers.
The one question I ask is what do you do for the future of the world. Not you at the present, and what do you teach your kids?

Maybe I am just really different, maybe I am really in a place I don't belong.
I don't know.

BTW, I didn't call anyone stupid, I said the situation was stupid, I should have said "seem" stupid.
I am sorry about that for sure.

Perhaps you are right.

I have to say though, it is not the computer that makes me feel this way. This is easy , just turn it off , is all the other "real life" situations I face.I will never meet anyone of you and I have not even talk to you on the phone, this is the beauty of the net, you can actually say things and really get to the bottom of people's feelings.
It is just sad when you find the same answer everywhere.

Hello loved ones, may i state that i am a basically socially inept but advanced soul. i do not "get" many things like why one person on LL "one ups" another or "exposes whomever for what they really are" and often miss the point entirely when one bashes the other. I do not even know what happened to sue g. and I miss her.
in my online social naivete I wish to never harm any of you all, embarass anyone or myself, expect anyone to think I am the know it all in any matters or that i think I am. I missed most of this latest ruckus.
What i do ask is that if anyone anytime feels i am misstepping or being out of line or bossy or nosey or assuming please do let me know right away, ok?
This is a place I find comfort and am able to relax and be loving without fear and I thank you all for that. Moderating must be challenging and I thank all you that have assumed that task for us.
I do find some posts to be sill drivel but then realize we have all ages and personalities here and that some of my posts must be silly drivel to someone else. What i realize most of all that it is okay either way. Love Tuxedo Meow

Thank you for that refreshing, just laying it all out there honesty, TM. I smiled reading it.

Exactly!!! It's called tolerance for the differences of others. I see you understand tolerance well.

NAM,

When you get a chance maybe read this. It's one of those copied and pasted words of someone else but I do that, as do others, because I feel that there are those who know more than I do. Also we like to share spiritually uplifting things with each other here at LL in the hopes it helps us in some way on our journey.

Hope this helps you. Also that is a good site to check out. It has a lot of good articles that might be helpful.

Hi Tuxedo. I also enjoyed the sentiments of your post.

However, sometimes people deliberately cause destruction and chaos where there is or could be peace and understanding.

If everyone accepted everything you would find the peace drowned out.

Taking a stand is sometimes nessecary, from chaos comes order after all, that is a universal law.

So it's all nessecary and part of the natural cycle of things, it just seems accelerated here.
