Llama as in the animal.

"Street llama" is hip hop or street slang for someone who doesn't know what you are talking about.

I think they use llama to describe it because Llamas have sort of a blank stare like we give people when we have no idea what they are talking about.

But they have cute little faces anyway.

Yes, they do have cute faces, although when you are next to thme they kind of smell and they spit.
You know, llamas are native of my country.

But, thanks I learn something new.

I only know that from living in the northern burbs of Detroit. hee hee

The teens around here pick up on the street talk slang of the inner city of Detroit. Or maybe from Rap music.

    Zebra/Llama Cross
    in Mount Lehman
    This was accidental.

Some friends needed a place to keep their male zebra for a couple of months. He seemed to be quite happy in with the llamas. Obviously he made himself right at home as we were quite surprised when this little guy was born about a year later.

Here's another strange Llama cross:

This one was done on purpose however!
Llama/Emu Cross
Hatches from Egg
Scientists in British Columbia have released information on a new method of genetically modifying emu eggs. By inserting DNA from a llama into the egg, they have created a brand new cross between camelids and ratites. The scientific classification this new creation is known as a cametite. For more detailed information on how this was achieved, follow this link.
The photo on the above shows a hatchling shortly after it has emerged from its egg.

True confessions
Q. Did you really cross a llama and an emu?

A. No. Well, not exactly. Well, sort of . . .

Back in 1981, when we got our first two llamas, we were walking them through the subdivision where we lived and I heard a man exclaim “Martha! Look at the emus!” That stuck with me over the years and recently I found a picture of an emu chick. I decided that, with a little modification, it would be a good addition to our series of “nonsense pages”.

I thought it was ridiculous enough, but a few people believed it so, after Jane had to explain it to a woman on the phone, it was decided that we should include an explanation.

On the left is the original picture of the emu chick.

On the right is a photo of a young llama that was similar in colour to the emu chick.

It was simply a matter of adjusting the colour of the baby llama head, flopping it, tilting it a little, and pasting it on top of the emu chick picture. I had to make the background a little higher at the top to make room for the llama head and then remove the shadow of the chick’s beak.

aqua inferno. We all need one of those handy gadgets. That's too funny!!!!

Makes a really cute hybrid to mate a zebra with a llama. I guess the "need" arose in that case. LOL

Juni's gonna love this thread with all the Llama pictures. She's LL's Lady of the Llamas.

Funny cartoon, AG LOL

Ok this thread may be taking a sharp turn towards an X rating, HSC

Course I don't have one of those little translating gadgets in order to make that determination. LOL

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word "llama":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08BRy0MoIA8

The second link below says its the "new" version, I don't know which I watched originally, but it was quite a few years ago. I know weird people.
And now I have been inspired to load these and watch again. hehehe (by more weird people I know.... )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbPDKHXWlLQ

I used to watch it over and over, just to laugh. It made me laugh so hard that tears rolled down my face and I couldn't breathe.
I like to think of myself as the queen weirdo, but it is always fun to meet the competition.
