Hey, anyone ever go to these? How often are they held?

They seem a bit like Ren fairs, but more focused on fairy lore and costumes. I'm wondering, is it just for fun & whimsy (like zombie walks), or is it a sincere celebration where fairies are invited (pretty much neopagan)? Are they dominated by Otherkin?

And anyone know anything about a band that shows up at such fests called Woodland?

I've never seen or heard of any such thing, but I'd love to hear more about it. The closest thing I've seen to what you're describing is the Renaissance(sp?)Festival.

My sweet Leo bf is just aching to get me a faerie costume for Halloween and I can use it when we go to the Renaissance festival. I've been trying to go to that for over 20 yrs if you can believe it. I'm just always working or roaming the world when it's here in AZ.
Plus, he's aching to have me wear fishnet stockings, which I just found out last night that he finds very, very sexy.

Oh, this is going to be too much fun!!

Along w/ the Ren-fests Scotish Games etc...my state has a RPG Wargames club- This is LIve in Your Face - http://www.darkon.org/ Swords, Lances, Chain Mail...vera sexy p.s. they made a movie too.

Node, the Renaissance festival holds "scenes" like that. Plus, they will throw you in "jail"!!

Fayte, I thought I was the only nut who loved dressing up and acting out these sorts of fantasies. When I first saw footage on the news about the festival I realized there are a BUNCH of goobers like me!

So much fun to be had!!
