I like what you said about the Phoenix. We've all been through tremendous transformations, and had to overcome public and private sufferings. I feel very lucky not to have gone through, in this lifetime, many of the things I've heard about from others.

I do think there are different kinds of phoenixes, and, most distinctly, two main types: Those who deal with external issues, and those who deal with internal. Of course, when the internal issues are intense, they spill over into the external, and vice-versa. I think the people we tend to see as "victims" usually deal with external issues, and then internalize them. Because we can see the "cause" in the outer world, we are inclined to understand and sympathize with the internal conflicts. But when people's issues "begin" internally, and spill over into the external, we tend to see them as the aggressor, because the "cause" of their anger and behavior is not obviously located in the external world. Something to think about. And, of course, there are people who are born with serious internal conflicts and encounted conflicts in the world, and their cross is indeed difficult to bear. Likewise, we might think of people who are born especially harmonious on the inside, who then face external conflicts, and do not internalize them to a great degree. When you are your own best friend, you can overcome just about any external difficulty. Just as, if you are in conflict with yourself, but are very well provided for externally, you may ease those internal conflicts with external means (frequent and expensive treatments, for instance). And then there are good friends, a supportive family, and any number of resources not mentioned here, which some people have easier access to than others; often much easier. Often, many of the resources we take for granted are not at all accessible to others. Really, there are so many things to consider, and I doubt there has been born a person in this world with the kind of genius needed to see and consider all the factors, so as to pass a fair judgement on anyone, and decide, who is a phoenix and who is not.

But I'll stop here.
I've been spiralling a lot lately.

You couldn't have found the picture without looking up "thinker," so it's only logical that "thinker" was what was on the mind. If you hadn't seen the one with the blurb, you wouldn't have posted it. Therefore, you'd have had to go look for a means of parodying him if that were your intent.

This thread is supposed to be a thread to show special appreciation of folks and how we feel about them.
No one will have the same views of all here.

If we gave EVERYONE HERE ALL THE SAME EXACT AWARDS.....
Then this entire thread would be redundant, and should be deleted by that token.

Now I personally find all that rather silly.

That was her original intention.
Then she saw the joke.
She giggled.
The question is:
Did she giggle mischeviously?
Did she realize how it may be taken or not?
Maybe she did, consciously or unconsciously.
Maybe she couldn't help herself?

Wow, thats a great pic, Solane.

Its a shame, though, that,
whenever we post huge pics like that
people have to scroll back and forth
across the screen to read to the end
of almost every line of some of the posts.
I end up missing a lot of posts that way.
Its just not worth the annoyance.
Thats one of the reasons why
I often like to keep the lines short
and the margins wide, when I post.
