Interesting choice! So what's the story behind it? And why the apostrophe? Good night! IP: Logged |

Hi N,The apostrophe seperates the word into two. I found out that "ris" means branch or "twig". Think of The World Tree, Tree of Life, Tree of Knowledge. Also of each of us being a branch, twig, leaf, flower from one Great Tree. "I" 'm a twig. Having grown out of the One. The branches streching up to the sky/ Sun while still connected to earth & underworld by their roots. Maybe you can understand the idea to seperate the word now. It made sense to me. lol IP: Logged |

also the connection to the Eyes/light, the Rainbow, someone I love, etc:1. The pigmented, round, contractile membrane of the eye, suspended between the cornea and lens and perforated by the pupil. It regulates the amount of light entering the eye. 3. A rainbow or rainbowlike display of colors. from Latin ris, rid-, rainbow, iris (the plant), from Greek, rainbow, brightly-colored gemstone, iris of the eye Noun 1. iris - plants with sword-shaped leaves and erect stalks bearing bright-colored flowers composed of three petals and three drooping sepals fleur-de-lis, sword lily, flag In Greek mythology, Iris is the personification of the the rainbow and messenger of the gods. As the sun unites Earth and heaven, Iris links the gods to humanity. She travels with the speed of wind from one end of the world to the other[1], and into the depths of the sea and the underworld. Iris is the personal messenger of Hera and Zeus, queen (and king) of the gods. She is Hera's agent from Mount Olympus to the mortal world. She is also associated with Hermes, another messenger god. Like Hermes, she bears wings and carries messages to mortals. The word iridescence is derived in part from the name of this goddess. "Arco iris" and "arco-íris" are the words for "rainbow" in Spanish and Portuguese, respectively. IP: Logged |

The other choice is Vesper meaning:An evening service, prayer, or song www.innvista.com/culture/religion/diction.htm evening star: a planet (usually Venus) seen at sunset in the western sky a late afternoon or evening worship service wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn But it kind of bothers me that is sounds a lot like "vespa", the brand motorscooter. So I dont know. What do you all think? IP: Logged |

My Libra moon won't let me give a definative answer, LOL!I see quality with each of these names. When I read "I'ris", I think "flower" When I read "Vesper" I think "music" and "star" If it were "me" for myself... I'd most likely choose Vesper, it's easier to remember and type, LOL! IP: Logged |

I was going to think of a name for you, but I couldn't get over you being my baby and all. What'll I tell my girlfriend? It's cool that you got two new names approved so quickly. Between them I prefer Vesper. I happen to like Vespas a lot, so that's not off-putting. I'ris has a great set of meanings, but it seems like you'd only convey those meanings once here, and then they'd be obscure to anyone new. It also doesn't feel right for me. Maybe it's a numerological thing or something. Vesper's got some moxy to it, which I appreciate. I like 26Taurus for convenience sake. I recognize that person. Ok, I'm not sure if this is a great suggestion, but here it is: Terra Firma IP: Logged |

Okay fam...i think i'm back to square one now. Thanks for voicing your opinions and thoughts on the names. I dont think i like either of them too much anymore. lol AG, Thank you for your opinions and suggestion. Yes, maybe I should stick with a name involving "earth" in some way....hmm You are right, they dont really "feel right" to me either... And I meant "baby" as in: infant baby, not honey-baby. lol! I dont know what you'd tell your girlfriend about that one either though. *stomping foot* I dont wanna be 26T anymore!!! waaahhhh! Life is tough. IP: Logged |
