I can't say I follow the teachings to the letter as I haven't studied them all but I do find what I've come across to be useful and meaningful. It reminds me a lot of that book Linda recommended ... The Game of Life by Florence Scovel Shinn (sp?). Because of the similarities, I think Linda would have approved of at least part of the Abraham-Hicks teachings. I think the only problem with them that I've come across is that critics have tended to focus on how the information could be misused or lead to one being dragged down in materialism. Which is true. But the realization that that's been true all along as these "laws" work whether or not you are aware of them is on the one hand redeeming for them and on the other hand a bit shocking for the state of our world.

I think the point you make about materialism is very valid. That's what critics of Abraham-Hicks say when they simplify the message. I think Linda would love the focus on gratitude. Of course, Abe isn't the first to come up with gratitude. But the POWER of it all... I firmly believe WE are in charge of our fates (and yet I also believe in destiny... hhmmm...)... and have the power to make amazing things happen... I think Linda would love that Abraham is teaching us to reign that power.

I don't really like the tenants of The Secret... I think it simplifies things too much... but the thought that like attracts like and strong like attracts strong results is a great one.

Maybe the collective consciousness, Abraham, is like Linda's druids.

Ahh, it feels so good to be back among Linda lovers.

I love at the end of a reading when the group says, "We are complete." They express what is theirs to express, and then they declare they are complete. Ah, if we could all do the same.

What I have taken from this material is to stop blaming everyone else for my life when something goes wrong. Actually there is no right or wrong. There is only perception, opinion, and choice.

1. I perceive what is happening in front of me with the filters I've developed using my five senses.

2. I form an opinion with my new perceptions.

3. I use my new opinion to choose to act, react, or walk away from the situation in front of me. My opinion doesn't make it right or wrong in anyone's head but my own!

Also I love the Law of Allowing. Allowing what is mine to come to me instead of pushing it away. And allowing other folks to do their thing too. Allowing. What a great word!

I continue to try and tip the scales to thinking about what I DO want instead of what I DON'T want. I didn't realize how much time I was spending on thoughts of "Don't want."

I have no idea what Linda would have thought!

BiBi! Has Michael spoken much about this material at church? Actually, wasn't the Hicks couple originally supposed to be on "The Secret?" Seems like I read that somewhere. Anyone else know more about that?
