This afternoon I heard someone say soemthing abit disturbing yet funny.
I heard the neighbour's grandson, who was outside in the garden, saying " goodbye, cruel world" I knew he was joking when he was saying that but it was abit disturbing him saying it. I mean he is only 8 years old. It got me thinking that what would happen when he is older and knows the concept of suicide better? I mean, he could easily kill himself.
But on the funny side, I had to laugh abit as he is a real character and it sounded as if he was acting in a film.

Why do kids say things like this, if they really don't understand what they are saying?

Adults aren't any better fieryscales. Heck the only difference is with childern, you wouldn't expect any hidden surprises for the most part.

If the world actually understood everyone else's prespective then politics and democracy would actually have a real chance at a 100% effeciency. Ah well...

They say it because they want to hear what it sounds like. they want to see what kind of reaction it brings out in themselves and other people.

unless of course he was really sad.

but that is funny.. I bet he's a little crab

"Actually he is a Pisces"

I had a feeling he was, I have a 8 year old Pisces son who will say the same thing..My son gets alot of his sayings from television shows. Its innocent, they hear stuff like the way it sounds and will repeat it. I know that my son is happy and no way near thinking about suicide. I heard him say a couple years ago when he was 5 or 6 just out of the blue, one man's junk is another man's treasure and I looked at him and I said where did you get that from, he said I heard it on Sponge Bob..Best thing is when Kids says things like this is for the parents to ask them what do they think it means and give them the correct answer so that they understand..Oh I have heard my son talk about death as well, I sit down with him and get in his head, Pisces in general have imaginations and the kids are way more imaginative then the adults, talk with them so that they understand things is all..

Oh, don't worry about it. I don't have kids, but I remember being one well enough to know that it probably wasn't any kind of remark made out of some kind of personal suffering or anything like that. He probably heard it on TV and was being innocently dramatic. Kids will repeat stuff they hear on TV without comprehending what it might sound like to adults.

On the subject of death though, when I was 6 or 7 I used to ask questions about death. Not because I was depressed, but because I was curious and had gone beyond the point of just being satisfied that they were "dead". I wanted to know what it was all about. Kids are just naturally curious, they want to know about everything, not just the happy, cheery subjects.

If you watch them, kids often act out things they have witnessed whether off the T.V or out of their personal experiences.

Apparently it is a role-play that helps them understand the world about them.

Or maybe it is just because they want to be Luke Skywalker and bash things with a light-sabre.
