awwwwwww, lookit you all sneaking in a hello to me!!!

Yeah, I popped by to spend some time with my old friends last night.
I'm hopeless on getting caught up.. Astrology moves so fast, there is no hope!

Family is wonderful!Mr Ells is turning one next month if you can believe that!
I just got Lasik surgery and it's been awesome.. I can see without contcts or glasses for the first time since I was a kid! It's otherworldly and something I will never take for granted.

I type one handed too. I ALWAYS have a baby on my lap.

Names usually get capitalised. Concepts don't. Correct me if I am wrong but I assume this was the subconcious process in picking angel_of_hope rather than Angel of Hope.

I was thinking about this thread last night. At the time I picked this user name I didn't know I could have spaces, hence the underscoring. I'm remembering that when I capitalized it, it didn't look fitting for me ... It was as if I was standing on the roof top pronouncing I am "the" Angel of Hope ... I didn't want that. I just simply wanted to be angel_of_hope ... Alot like Juni in a sense that I just wanted it to blend in and not stand out amongst the crowd. (angel and hope are words that can be found within my full name ... of is not .. well the O is, but not the F.)

To my eyes an uncapitalized name simply looks wrong. A name should always have a capital letter because it is proper. Maybe this is the german in me coming out.

Xodian you may be a stickler for "grammer" (grammar) but I guess you're not a stickler for spelling!

I spend most of my time on the computer and/or reading.
Non-capitalized names, nicknames, first letters in a sentence annoy me as I need to always do a double take to comprehend what people are trying to say.

Is that Suicidal Squirrel from Stuart Smalley's "Meditation in the Dysfunctional Forest" ??? I love that tape. If it's not, you should try to find it, it's hilarious. There's Rage-a-holic Rabbit, Workaholic Beaver and many other beloved - uh - dysfunctional characters who must remember that they are good enough, smart enough, and dawg gone it - people like them.

Edit: Wow, I'm really out of the loop, I see. Well, at least I capitalize my name.

To be more detailed about it, it's important to me and I must admit it drives me crazy when other people don't capitalize their names or bother to capitalize when they type out a post because capitalizing in the expected places actually helps me to read better, faster and with stronger comprehension. I feel it helps people to get their messages across and to tell the truth, I can't always take certain posts seriously when someone doesn't bother to capitalize in the expected places. It makes me think that if the person is too lazy to capitalize, are they also too lazy to research carefully and properly?

My thought is that most of us are here to learn how to interpret symbols properly and clearly, but if we can't be bothered to properly express the most simple 26 symbols that we use for communication, how can we be trusted to interpret these new very powerful astrological symbols, tarot symbols, Rune symbols, etc.? Are we bothering to learn correctly and communicate what we learned clearly....and with respect?

Feel free to call me an ego-maniac if that's what capitals and proper grammar (or the best I can do) makes me.

Today must be the day for ranting on communications skills -- there's another soapbox over here
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/016665-2.html

What can we pin it on astrologically??
You, me and BR -- what do we have in common today??

AG ~

I was just curious what might be the common denominator for BR, Geo and I since all three of us have *gone off* today on people who can't write clearly

Geo's mum on her chart. Do I have your chart?

You're all masculine Suns, so we could look at masculine transits?

Moon @ 22 degrees Sagittarius
Mercury @ 13 Aquarius
Venus @ 15 Aquarius
Mars @ 28 Gemini
Neptune @ 22 Aquarius
True Node and Chiron also in Aquarius

Oooh, Jupiter's at 15 degrees Capricorn! Mine's at 16 degrees natally.

You're gonna get 3 hits for your Jupiter Return, AG It turns rx on May 10th @ 22 Cap, then D again on Sept 8th at 12 Cap.....

A good candidate for my crotchety rantings on spelling and punctuation might be the tMoon at +/- 22 Sag: square both my nMoon (26 Pisces) and nMars (22 Virgo).....

Geo's mum so far BR are you out there??

Actually, I don't think of myself as having gone off, I just simply answered the question that was asked as the title of this thread. I even made the mistake of answering someone's post on page one without realizing that my answer was going on bottom of page two.

But I guess the question allowed me to say what I've been thinking for a while. Also, I don't fault anyone for not being good at grammar or spelling, etc. It's just that it helps when an attempt is made.

Also, to be fair, I am a copy-editor and a proof reader of college textbooks of the hard sciences, mathematics, and psychology, so to say that I'm extra sensitive to it might be fair, but then I am the first person to tell a writer not to worry about spelling or grammar in order to let their creative juices flow. There are too many talented and imaginative people who block their gifts because they don't spell perfectly or know all the rules of grammar and that's a shame.

So let it be said that there are times when I know how to lighten up, even here. Although I do draw the line at IM speak on a discussion forum. That's pretty rough and I can't read it.

Oh, and Azalaksh,

I'm sorry to hear you have the flu, ouch. I hope you've got some good rememdies that make you feel good.

I'm going to sleep now. Take good care,

Geocosmic Valentine
