Wife Swap has spiritual new agey mom swapped with down to earth pig farmin' mom. It's hilarious so far.

But, I came to tell anyone who is interested that Baby Borrowers is on tonight... they have been promo-ing it. They are going to give very young couples children so they can somewhat understand parenthood. It is going to be EXCELLENT. *twiddles fingers Mr. Burns style*

Hi Mystic!

I watched most of Baby Borrowers. How hard would it be to be one of the parents and having to watch?! So far I'm really impressed with the guys.

^^^that's my baby when she was tiny^^^

hi baby

Well, probably not a baby anymore... how old is your baby girl, Future?

That show ROCKED. If it was on for 2 hours every night, I doubt I could pull myself away.
To answer your question... I would have never given them my baby in the first place. hehe I'd be much worse than those parents. It was cool when the dad went. He taught the young people with patience.

hmm ... that doesn't sound right I meant to say I would be much worse about worrying and having to run over to make sure my baby is ok and I would have been insanely protective. I would have NEVER given strangers on tv my baby. I probably didn't leave her overnight with my mom until she was two. Seriously.
I'll pawn her off now to reality tv though... KIDDING.

My daughter will be two in October.
She's a pumpkin, but ornery as can be!

What was it about the show that appealed to you personally?

Also, how many children do you have and how old are they?

That baby borrowers show was weird but I couldn't help but keep watching. As a big advocate of holding babies I was disturbed when the mom of the 5 month boy came over and said that "He's not used to being held so much"

Plus she was mad because they gave up on the baby food and just gave him a bottle. He's five freaking months old! He's supposed to be living off (ideally) mama's milk or formula not force fed a requisite amount mush from a jar! arrgh.

That said, I'll probably tune in again this week.

Yeah, Harpyr, I thought so too. It's hard to watch, but if it's on I'm kind of sucked in.

OH! They are playing the first show again before the second episode, so anyone who missed it can totally catch up. Watch! Watch! It's excellent.

I didn't answer anybody last night. I hadn't fully read the responses. I would insert the embarrassed icon but since it looks like the angry icon, I won't.

My daughter is 5 and what I liked immediately on hearing about the show is how helpful it will be to our youth in demonstrating how difficult parenting actually is... since I educated myself on the subject and waited until I was 30 and still was astounded at how difficult it was and IS. And this is much better than giving kids a mechanical baby and I love it that so many will have a chance to view this show. I hope my friends had their teens watch it.

Harpyr, I actually had the same thoughts. But it takes a different kind of person to allow their new baby to be cared by by teens on a tv show for 3 days (although I am grateful they were able to do it). I actually thought that these must be parents on their 3rd child or something who could be more casual about it. I was surprised that most of them were first time parents. I could have never been away from my daughter for 3 days when she was that young, even though I was exhausted.

The toddlers next week are going to be fun.

I liked it when the one husband said something about how he and his wife learned something about themselves and their own dynamic from watching the young couple deal with the stress of the situation.
