Spoiler Alert!!! If you have not seen this film and would like to, I suggest reading this post, if you think of it, after the viewing. Thank you.I love this movie and I want to know what you think about the scene where her husband, Charles, is in their bedroom. He just told her he came home to say goodbye and she's crying into her pillow. Then he begins to cry as well, but silently. Before she came in he was alone with the children who told him about that day. I'm just curious if he put it all together and realized they were (including himself) dead. Now, I know he said he had to return to the "front", which leads me to think he still believed he was alive. Yet, when he starts to weep it is as if he was suddenly struck by the truth of the situation. Does anyone wish to speculate? IP: Logged |

Maybe, since he oes not return again. Interesting twist at the end of the movie.------------------ What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us ~Ralph Waldo Emerson IP: Logged |

Thank you for your input. I think so, too. I think he may have moved on, whereas his family clings to the house at the end. I just downloaded the film's soundtrack. Amazing!IP: Logged |
