Do you ever get the urge to do something ridiculous?I was talking with a friend of mine earlier. He's a waiter. He said that sometimes he gets the urge to smash the plate into a customer's face. He said it has nothing to do with hostility, he harbors no ill will toward them. He just imagines himself doing it and then has to fight the compulsion. I told him about an urge I used to get often while in high school and college. I would picture myself doing the worm ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcGEIlNFk4Q ) down the aisle, then across the front of the classroom and out the door. I'd so badly want to drop to the ground and do it. The thing though is that I can't even do the worm. So if I actually did go ahead and do it, in my head I'd probably be thinking I was rocking it, while in reality I would've been rolling around on the floor looking like a drunk seal. So any fellow nutjobs out there? Share, please. IP: Logged |

The worm lol that's funny Jane.I usually do a happy dance when I get a really good idea or happy thought wherever I am and only notice the stares later ------------------ What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us ~Ralph Waldo Emerson IP: Logged |

janerofl. i get compulsions to dance. i like to wear my ipod a lot (i LOVE my music) and without realising it - like at the checkout or wherever - i'll be tapping and moving. i get lost in it and as i'm not really focussed on what others are thinking anyway - i just kind of forget where i am (don't ask my how - i can't explain it either). i'm just grateful that it's not singing. now that would be really embarrassing. One of my compulsions ( or maybe it is a sexual fantasy) would be that if I saw a handsome guy in public ( in my eye hamdsome), I would go up to him and give him a lingering kiss IP: Logged |

fieryscales - Hot damn. Now I know what "fiery" refers to. Am I remembering correctly that your fire is your Sag Moon?charmainec - Please say your victory dance resembles the running man. Peace - When the trance finally breaks, do you find dollar bills tucked into your waistband? IP: Logged |

Fiery - I did that once lol. The guy was shocked then laughed and we became good friends. Just be careful if you ever decide to go for it. Peace - Confidently shake that junk in your trunk. You'll raise enough to cover tuition for all 3 of your kids.deux - omg, that part with Webster cracked me up. How much do you wanna bet that the disgusted woman in the beginning has a strong Saturn and lots of Virgo? So when you review all our talents, I'm sure you guys are thinking the same thing I am--traveling dance troupe! Pole-dancing, freestyle, worming, and fiery giving the audience some sugar. We'd be a hit. charm - NO! You started the Spasmodic Bon-Bon?! That's the dance craze spreading like wildfire world-wide. I thought it started at some underground club in Berlin! IP: Logged |

oh, i so hear you about the sense of humour. it seems unless you add smilies then your at risk of being misunderstood. i've learnt the hard way this week, let me tell you. lol. as for garfield. do i get to wear a thong? or as we aussies call them - a g-string. while the other girls are dancing on stage (and miming), i'll be the one eating lasagne.
see my "flashie" - that's me doing the flashdance? what a feeling!

hahahahaha I totally do!!! I identify very much with this thread!!! I get odd compulsions that I find absolutely hilarious. Sometimes I will giggle. Sometimes I will share, but then I realize only I find it hilarious, or they don't get the 'vibe' I got when thinking of it... they don't have the secret ingredient that makes it so righteously funny.A few times I have embarrassed myself ( in retrospect, not in the moment) because it was inappropriate or whatever. Now I'm a stuffed shirt, so when I rock the inappropriateness, it is even more odd, I think.

There's a Facebook group I'm thinking of joining called "I get the urge to punch slow-walking people on the back of the head". I also get the urge to punch people who take ages to get on to the bus and then think "oooh yeah, I gotta PAY" and then search for their change purse for a million years and then can't decide where to sit. Up down up down. These people are normally retired. I am normally on my way to work and it can take several decades to get there.Compulsive behaviour in other ways.... I find it difficult to buy loose vegetables because the onions or whatever shout "Me! Me!" and get all sad when I don't pick them, so I have to think about which one to choose carefully according to the energy it's emitting, how sad it is about not being picked, or whether I like the look of its face (they have faces, they all have faces), like I'm constantly doing the effing tarot or something. It's exhausting. And it makes my comments about the bus people seem very hypocritical. Ridiculous compulsive behaviour, other than just common or garden violence? I'm thinking....
