Have you tried Abebooks? http://www.abebooks.co.uk/
Or got to Hay-on-Wye for the day. If you have any spare books in your house you can sell them to pay for the petrol. It's what I do when I go there, no seriously, I do. IP: Logged |

Oh I love Hay on Wye, I might go and have a look, especially because it's mushroom season and there's no better place that Hay Bluff - sod selling books BM, get yer bum up there and then sell some shrooms to the hippies! Here's a link to a place here in Utah. This is where I found my copy of Gooberz (the only one they had). If they have it they can ship it to you or I can probably do that for you. You can email them with this link and they will email you back if they have it or not. They are a huge book store here so you never know... www.samwellers.com good luck! ------------------ Make new friends But keep the old One is silver and the other's gold IP: Logged |

Hi all, thanks so much for the links! Unfortunately it wasn't on any of them. It's not an astrology book, it's a book about a rare boat which is very specific to the area I live in. I'll keep looking! Thanks peeps. xIP: Logged |

Go to your local library then. You wouldn't believe the amount of obscure references libraries keep. Talk to the reference librarian. They know their stuff.IP: Logged |

You might try contacting the distributor directly. If you know who they are. They often know the fate of the books whether or not they are any longer in print, and from there you can try and contact the publisher directly. And there's always Ebay. IP: Logged |

Oooh, been to the library, they're going to order it for me! Thanks Tink! And meanwhile I'm on the waiting list on alibris, and have contacted bookshops on ebay that deal with marine stuff, also phoned the publisher who have given me the name of some bookshops in Bristol who may have it. So it's all good! Thanks guys.IP: Logged |

Yeah, HarvestBooks is great. Their warehouse is 20 minutes from my home in Philadelphia. But unfortunately, I bring them really nice condition hardbacks all the time and they offer me so little for them. It's nice to be able to actually go to the Harvest warehouse, take a seat, and flip through the books. A few weeks ago I bought a couple Charles Carter astrology books from them. LEXX: did you buy up those two Dane Rudhyar books!?!? The longer books sit in their collection, the cheaper they become, and one of the Rudhyar books was finally under $10, and I was about to grab it. One day they were available, the next morning I drove up there and the Rudhyar books were gone. A salesperson said their website refreshes about every 24 hours, but I've seen specific books that I've purchased still listed for weeks afterward. IP: Logged |

A college professor of mine once recommended Strand books in NYC, but I haven't checked out their website yet. http://www.strandbooks.com/ IP: Logged |
