Meta,I have always been fascinated by vampires. I have been introduced to them by a (female) friend who was 3 years older than me,w hen I was fairly young.
I never pictured myself as a vampire though. But I`m still not completely convinced that she is NO vampire. lol
We would do all this roleplaying, which was a bit scary for me in my age actually. I became scared and thus I talked her "to death" to defeat my fear. lol Later during my puberty, actually even a bit later, I became really really obsessed with vampjires, including a row of dreams, which were pretty enlightening to my inner state of mind. But it was the romantic aspect that attracted me, yes. And that "living outside the norm, just listening to instincts" was a root of fascination for me, as I was always so controlled and basically a "good girl".

Got ya. I understand that too. The romantic aspect of it, i mean. I would like to say it was the romantic aspect that drew me to them... but at such a young age (7 or 8) i don't think that's true. It was a power. It was a darkness. It was a fear. I wanted it. Badly. I WAS a vampire. In my mind, you know. I just was... I was a freaky little kid. But the vampires i know (through the gothic culture) are all psychic vampires. I don't know any sanguine vampires. And sanguine vampires are the ones with the power, in my mind. So your friend could have very well been a psychic vampire. Did she ever leave you feeling exhausted when you were together? Did she ever leave you feeling drained? Or... did she ever touch you? Interesting conversation guys. One I can't relate to. But really interesting. Have never been drawn to vampires or the like. When I was little and I could see and feel spirits I thought that they were bad and because they were bad that they came to me because I was bad and I was terrified of them. So the thought or reality of vampires was way too much fear - way too deep a terror to go near. So I rejected that completely. Even now though, it holds no appeal.IP: Logged |

Lol! Its so funny how vampiric legends and myths grow to such reclusive levels. Vampires by nature aren't gifted with Psy abilities. The dark gift of Erebus (i.e. Hell) fell under three categories: Transformation, Alluration, Hyponotisim. Dracula, who was chosen by the Devil himself had all three gifts. After that, the gifts varied from Vampire to vampire as his blood diluted in the genetic line.So goes the Myth anyway. IP: Logged |

But the idea of Vampires existed long before Bram Stoker and Dracula. Plus, there are so many allegories inside Dracula that it's hard to tell what it TRULY meant by what. Vampires, by trait, are supposed to be aristocratic, charismatic, beautiful, dark, powerful, and magnetic. That's what they are SUPPOSED to be on the OUTSIDE. On the inside it SUPPOSEDLY varies. Ah but the lore only focused on Vamperism as told by Victorian litreature that CHOSE to put a romantic spin on Vamperism and Vampires (don't worry, I am a fan of Victorian Vampire Litreature and I usually disdain other interpertations Lol!)
