I read one of hers back in 2000 that I checked out from the library. I'm not sure, but I THINK it might've been Out On a Limb--but again, I'm NOT sure. Anyway, there was a small part in this book where a guy shares with her of meeting a human looking (mostly) ET in South America somewhere. She had a charming effect on him (as if he were under a spell to be infatuated with her & follow her around) and she had hair so black that IIRC even had a little blue in it. As did her skin, IIRC. I may not have the details I share here exactly right, btw. This was a very small and unimportant part of the book, but I've been looking for this again and I can't find it. Does anyone here recognize it, and if so, can you tell me what page & edition (or at least chapter) of which book it is? Thanks! IP: Logged |

I do, I like her writing. I think I've read two books by her (Out On A Limb and Dancing in the Light). Yeah, i remember that part, i think the place where he met the alien-like woman is in Peru near the Macchu Picchu, if i'm not mistaken. My books are in my home country though, so can't help you. Dervish, I've only read one MacLaine book - Out on a Limb. I read it when I was a teenager, which was quite a few years ago , but remember the story. MacLaine's friend, I believe his name was David, takes her for a ride in his truck and tells her his story of meeting the alien woman in Peru. They were driving on the same dark mountain road where he met the woman and, supposedly, he let go of the wheel and allowed the truck to manuever the winding road on its own.I don't recall the chapter off hand, but the incident takes place when she and David visit Peru, so it should be about midway thru the book or a bit after. I hope that helps. IP: Logged |
