hey PA! He's just basically trying to get a rise out of me, because he's a bullying a-hole. He used to upset me a lot but I saw him for what he was a few months ago. He knows I don't get teary-upset anymore, I get irritated and he tries to get a rise out of me by accusing me of not doing my job properly. Which he knows is bull as I do it blindfold. It's just the knowing he's trying to get at me is the irritating thing. It inspires violent feelings in me, which is half amusing half scary. It's more irritating than anything else. But he's more sinister towards others (my good friend and colleague for one, who does have to work with him more closely). He bullies her big style and it makes her very stressed and confused. He bullies and manipulates everybody and some people are aware, others not. But I got the whole Jupiter in Aqua sense of outrage going on at the mo, and I want to do something BIG to shut him up sometimes. Like judo! IP: Logged |

So I take it this person enjoys trying to get a rise out of you. It's a game. The idea being that the more they try - the more you resist.IP: Logged |

The other thing is that maybe you just feel sorry for someone who needs to behave that way to get your attention - I'd say - any attention. That's pretty sad and desperate.IP: Logged |

Yup, pretty sad isn't it! Luckily for me I've got a work nibbles and mulled-wine thing happening here tomorrow and I've got to go shopping for it in a sec, so I'll leave the misery guts on his own. That'll do him in. I will say goodbye with a cheery wave and a smile. I'll see you in a bit kitty-cat IP: Logged |

Does this person, by any chance, like you. Could it be that juvenile act of being mean because they like you? The other thing is that he behaves like this with women because it's what makes him feel like a man. I've seen that before. Chances are ***leans in really closely to the computer screen whispering*** he is really really bad in bed. IP: Logged |

Ooooh! Nibblies and wine! Perfect opportunity to get him blind drunk and take some really blackmail worthy pics. But you didn't get that from me. Even better - get him tattooed, or arrested. IP: Logged |

Nope, no chance of that, he's 70. Although I think he does get a kick out of having a girl around. He was my boss but he's not anymore. We fell out initially because he made the mistake of assuming I would bring him coffee. Oh dear. He got that one very very wrong. IP: Logged |

Ah - so you wouldn't get him his coffee and you don't know your place as a woman! Damn, what's wrong with you. Ah, it just comes down to age then doesn't it? And I'm not being sexist or ageist. It's the truth. Men who have grown up in a certain generation have come to expect women to behave in a certain way and treat them in a particular way. Isn't it sad that he is repliant upon others - to get his coffee, to feed his self-worth.IP: Logged |

He's still working at 70, getting in everyone's face telling them how to do their job. Sounds controlling, and maybe like he has crossed the line where passion for his work has been obsession. Is there a lesson in there for you? Maybe. When to speak out when not to speak out, possibly something like that. But it will be something for you to take out of the situation to make your life better. It's not like this had to happen because of anything wrong with you. Having to earn a living means working with horrible people sometimes, unfortunately. I've been there, lost my temper, walked out. LOL. IP: Logged |

bmI've done all that stuff too. It's part of the environment where you can't choose who surrounds you. That he's working at that age suggests either financial necessity or addiction, yes. Either way - sad. If it's obsession - then there's nothing else there - that's a big void. If it's financial requirement, at that age, wow - that's truly sad. IP: Logged |
