I go through phases. Does anyone else do that?Recently I went through an orange phase. I was eating like half a dozen oranges a day. At the moment it's nectarines. Love them. Next week it'll be something else. If I need a quick energy fix - nothing beats these: IP: Logged |

One for the Aussies. Take bites from each end and then dip it in your drink - coffee, cold milk, hot chocolate, whatever, and suck the drink through the biscuit like a straw. IP: Logged |

I'm a huge snacker, but Saggies are typically grabbing food on the run anywaysAny kind of nut, preferably cashews, pecans, almonds. Wasabi peas, barbecue potato chips, red licorice, granola cereal (I eat the large pieces and leave the rest), any kind of fruit I wish we could find Tim Tams around here in the States easier. Raw oysters on the half shell No...seriously? Cheese. I don't care what kind. If it's cheese and it's there, I will eat it. At any given point in time, I usually have a minimum of 6 types of cheese in the fridge. Usually : -Cheddar (sharp white cheddar is great) -Goat cheese (yummy with fresh rosemary and olives, on some artisan flat bread) -Brie (it's good with anything) -Feta (with tomatoes, green onions, and olive oil - Egyptian breakfast) -Fresh mozzarella (I like to make insalata caprese for a quick snack) -Fontina (melts so beautifully) Cheese rules IP: Logged |

I have an old fashioned stove top popcorn kettle (complete with a wooden hand crank!) and a very large ceramic bowl to hold all the delicious popped kernels Sprinkling various spices into the popcorn and mixing them by hand in the bowl gives it a good kick. Suggested spices: ~ sea salt & fresh cracked pepper ~ chili powder! ~ dried basil ~ dried oregano ~ paprika ~ dried garlic ~ cumin An extra drizzle of extra virgin olive oil gilds the lily. I go through phases, as well. Sometimes it's home-made spinach dip, eaten with chunks of Italian bread. A slice of celery, a large leaf of lettuce, and several slices of thin Cheddar cheese, dipped in Thousand Island Dressing. Potato chips don't do much for me anymore (a lot of time, they leave me feeling ill), but I occasionally like plain ones dipped in French Onion Dip, or the Doritos I ate for the first time in years, yesterday (a little goes a long way). Tortilla Chips dipped in hot Salsa. A glazed doughnut... veggie Subway sandwich, with southwest dressing, olives, shredded cheese, pickles and (sometimes) slices of hot pepper. Cream cheese on cinnamon-raisin bagels. I used to love English Salt & Vinegar crisps ~ Cheese & Onion, too. Oh, and English chips (no fish for me) - fat and greasy, but I love them (and miss them), sprinkled with salt and malt vinegar. Pickled onions. In England, I also loved cheese and pickle (Ploughman's or Branston) sandwiches. Trail Mix (sometimes - again, a little goes a long way). Peanut M&M's. I've been snacking on chocolate chips for the past few days. Ah... I'm hungry. I have pizza waiting downstairs. I'm trying to remember the name of these cracker-type things I used to eat, about ten/eleven years ago... they were a favourite for a while there. They had various flavours... that's going to bug me now. IP: Logged |

Oh definitely. The stars. The kids and I have been pulling them apart and making other things with them. Funny thing though - very particular about the shapes. We bought a plain pack and a variety pack. The variety pack has these dark little sticks so they may be what you're referring to. They're the best ones. Oh, pretzels. Who knew? IP: Logged |

My weakness, tho, is Cool Ranch Doritos. Those things are pure EVIL.

Strawberries. I swear they have an intoxicating effect on me.I'll rarely have an ice cream heavy on chocolate, but as these get me intensely high, I enjoy those sparingly. But I'd call those a favorite. Oddly, I don't like having strawberries with them (nor do I like any kind of chocolate right after having a strawberry). Indian Spiced Tea and a samosa is something I'd get more of if they weren't so hideously expensive. But I'd guess Trail Mix (there are 2 kinds at the health food store that I get) is what I have the most as a snack. IP: Logged |
