Someone asked me this recently, I can't remember who.

Anyway, first thing came into my head was Au Revoir, Les Enfants.

It just got me in the guts, most of all at the the end when it said why the director told the story.

She was good in that, I can see why she got an Oscar.

I hope no-one thinks I watch all these French classics because I am so artistic and cultured. It's only because my spouse, M. La Lune Bleue, gets sulky if he doesn't have control of the remote.

When did it become unacceptable to be cultured?

Au Revoir, Les Enfants looks depressing but I am going to watch it anyway.

Last comedy that I saw and liked was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"

Different film Bluemoon
I think the one about Edith Piaf was called
"La Vie en Rose"
I don't know, I didn't see it but that is the song she used to sing correct?

if you get a chance
watch it,
(Ma Vie en Rose)
and let me know if you like it
(I have a feeling you will)
Gemini right?

As far as French films, my favorites are A Very Long Engagement (Gaspard Ulliel is so fine) and Paris Je T'aime.

My all time favorite movie is Clueless.

Clueless is a great film, it kills me.

I like Ferris Bueller's Day Off as a favourite funny. And Donnie Darko as a favourite non-funny.

Wet Hot American Summer probably remains my favorite.

I know its disgustingly cliche, but Donnie Darko and The Big Lebowski are still awesome.

ScorpWeb!!! I thought I may have been one of the only people to have seen that movie!! I crack up every time I watch it.

"You taste like a burger, I don't like you anymore".

I have too many favorites to have just one, but I could do it by genre.

Comedy: Stepbrothers is it right now
Drama: The Red Violin
SciFi: Empire Strikes Back
Action: Face/Off or Basic... I love Travolta as a badass
Romance: Paris When it Sizzles or Playing by Heart

blue moon, I just saw "Au Revoir, Les Enfants". It put quite a different spin on nazism and the Holocaust. Thank you for bringing it up - it was a good movie.

I think my most favorite movie to watch remains...."The Count of Monte Cristo". I know its so far off from the actual book but I LOVE Jim Caviezel/Dagmara I-can-never-spell-her-last-name in it.

There's more in so many different categories that I don't feel like naming atm.
