LOL amowls, you just mentioned as worst for you the top two movies that I absolutely adore - "Twilight" and "There will be blood" - I put them on top of my best films. That only comes to say - "there are travelers for every train"IP: Logged |

I should add, oh what was it called? It was about a woman that goes to Los Vegas to become like a classy strip dancer, but spends a lot of time as a sleezy one. Ah, I remember: Showgirls. It was tiresome enough. But the gang rape scene at the end, complete with the licking of the victim's blood, and the circumstances (this was done to a fan by the star she adored and his friends) was something I left the room until it was over (luckily, this was on VCR, and others told me when it was done). But what really ticked me off was that it was supposed to be "made better" by the star himself getting slapped around and menaced with a switchblade. Get real. At least the guy in Death Wish who was bent out of shape over his wife gang raped to death and his daughter done the same at the same time into a mental ward TRIED to do something appropriate (even if he never found the actual perps, he had the right idea). Still, I suppose that's better than that really sucky song by Kenny Rogers, Coward of the County (OTOH, at least everyone involved got a butt kicking in that song, and they weren't getting up for awhile after, unlike in Showgirls where only one is slapped around a little). Anyway, that's a movie that when I heard a MST3K type movie had been made about it (snarky comments about the movie made all through it as it plays), I still refused to see it again. Showgirls sucks, and that gang rape scene in the end was perfect punishment for those who didn't have sense enough to stop watching it before it got that far. I regret being talked into seeing it. Yeah Dulce, Glitter was ATROCIOUS! I like Mariah too but she can't act worth shït. As far as Kill Bill goes, it wasn't a comedy. It was supposed to be a modern version of old school Saturday Afternoon Kung-Fu flicks. I liked it and thought Quinten pulled it off well. ------------------ Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚ Gemini Sun 24˚ Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house) Gemini Mercury 25˚ Cancer Venus 29˚ And yes, i'm a guy! Re: There Will Be Blood- Freaking Brilliant. From the first 10 min and the fall down the mine shaft. Christians, Preachers, money lust, oil fever, betrayal, brotherly murder. Paul Dano was so good he almost eclipsed D Day Lewis. A difficult movie. yes I was exhausted and disturbed. I recommend it. IP: Logged |

Billy Madison- Don't get me wrong, I love Adam Sandler, but this has to be the cruddiest film ever. Ok the magazine jokes are okay at the beginning but... chasing a giant penguin? acting like a complete imbecile and annoying the hell out of everyone but still manages to win the woman? the woman in question is his kindergarten tutor?? (yuck). entirely inappropriate song and dance routine at the end? And that voice! Die Billy Madison, die!!! There are many bad films which are immensely enjoyable however.
For instance, every Nicolas Cage film. Con Air - "I told you, you shoulda dropped the bunnay!" Ghost Rider - he turns into a flaming skeleton at night and kills bad guys by showing them all the evil deeds they have done! Face Off - Actually a brilliant film, but what about all those glaring questions in the plot?? Like, bone structure, for instance? Non-Nick Cage examples- The Punisher - "For I am............. The Punisher!" hahahahahaha. Evil Dead III - Not as scary or witty as the other two, but he still says "Groovy" and and mini versions of Ash trying to kill him?? I do not include Evil Dead II purely for the reason that it is a brilliant film! IP: Logged |

Oh yes, Evil Dead III: Army of Darkness is one of those I consider so terrible it's awesome. Out of the "so bad it's good" flicks, I'd say this one is the worst that is the best as a result. I don't know how many times I've seen it, and I STILL laugh at a lot of it. But Evil Dead II struck me as pretty similar, though not anywhere as over the top campy. Granted, it got close as Ash was fighting his own amputated hand (don't forget the scene with the mousetrap, or that bucket holding it being held down by books, the one at the top being Farewell to Arms). I didn't care that much for ED I when I saw it back in 2000, though I actually found the "we're going to get you" scene scary (most the rest of it was just a little too much for me to take seriously). I thought the 2nd one (which I think was more of a remake of the first one, IIRC) was much better, and done with a lot of tongue in cheek humor that appealed to me (plus Bruce Campbell's epic hamming). The final one was definitely more humor & snark than horror, and I even have a copy of that movie lying around somewhere. (I suppose I might get ED II should I ever find it cheap enough.) Like my cousin likes to say about certain types of cheap alcohol, "tastes like crap, but GOOD crap." Enjoying ED III: AoD helped me to finally understand what he meant by that expression. DervishI was scrolling down the second page of this thread breezing over the posts and one word jumped out at me: Showgirls. I burst out laughing and thought, "oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!". Shocker of a movie. Not into the slasher movies either. IP: Logged |

Pulp Fiction was the first movie to come to mind... I haven't seen a lot of the movies mentioned here. I caught Cabin Fever on the SciFi channel in 2007 ~ that one was disgusting. IP: Logged |

Dervish- Of course you have the same take on it as I do- First is actually trying to be horror, the third is trying to be funny and the second is (as Goldilocks would say) just right! The hand scene is legendary. I love how when he shoots it in the wall absolutely tons of blood comes out. Other favourite moments- the disembodied head of his girlfriend popping up at the window going "Hello lover...!", where the zombie mother's eyeball ends up when her head is squashed by the cellar door, how a tiny cabin cabin miraculously becomes an underground labyrinth in a chase scene.... and of course"GROOVY!"
