Koi,Are you a vegan??? I'm a vegan!!! ... i feel like we have had this conversation before... hmm... But yeah, it's hard to want to swallow up these lovely creatures when they're wrapped in cow skin. Makes one so indecisive!!!! >_< We should have a tea party. Speaking of tea party, when are we all going to meet up and have our freakin' dinner?!?!?!? Did we ever decide on the guest list??? How many people can you bring? Who's sitting where? IP: Logged |

Oooh, very nice!Operation all over, thanks everyone for the pampering. I'm not allowed to cook or clean for 24 hours. My dad snorted and laughed when the nurse said that, heh, heh nothing about not going on the internet. They did a good job. Very efficient, very friendly, and a new, modern building. And I didn't have to open my cheque book once. Though of course, I know less about the N.H.S than the G.U stalwarts who have read about it in the Daily Mail online or whose aunt's granny's dog's best friend once stopped-over at Gatwick airport. But enough of the politics. IP: Logged |

I think I asked the nurse to see the picture of her dog on her mobile. I started butting into their conversation, I think I thought I was chatting online or with friends down the pub or something. Or maybe my basic personality is a nosey gobshite. Sun in Gemini ~ well it fits. Love of books, knowledge, gossip, flirting, and an nosey gobshite. IP: Logged |

Persephone...I skimmed through some of this thread, just a little, I like my blood pressure too much. Some of it made me wince. But the post were nicely put, I commend contributors for their self-control. Some threads on here have made my blood boil. There are the odd posts where I think people are talking a pretentious load of cr@p. One was a personal insult aimed at me, very foolish. It's a bad idea because he picked one of those few things where I really know what I'm talking about. The 'drawing out emotions' comment annoyed me considerably, I could imagine being the poor guy being attacked by the vacuum cross vampire. I thought: If you know anything you'd know he'd want you to leave him alone. Luckily a psychiatric nurse hopped into the thread and said it is better to leave people until they are ready. Why did this annoy me so much? It's a Moon/Pluto thing. The post where someone hammered on about herbal tea and how natural labour is possible with lots of preparation. Yes, love, it's also possible with zero preparation. Here was mine: accepted it was going to hurt a bit, turned up, gritted my teeth, went home.being lucky to have quick deliveries without complications Times X. Me and tens of millions of other women throughout history. But, if you are a fanatic, you aren't going to listen to anyone else, you will always know better and will negate any experience or fact offered up as an alternative view. A little rant while I have the excuse of being under the influence. I'd love to know what has banged everyone's buttons on here but maybe I shouldn't ask (nosey Gemini). IP: Logged |

BM,I`m glad the surgery went well, and you`re back and chatty as ever. "Persephone...I skimmed through some of this thread, just a little, I like my blood pressure too much." Yes, exactly my reaction. My bloodpressure rises. I can feel it. And for some days now I felt really ****** off by some of the posts, especially by the dogmatic tone.
What got me worked up? Well, what gets me always is if someone claims to know the absolute truth; in a way it`s pretty clever. Cause if someone else disagrees with you, they are just too blind to see, too defensive, whatever. If someone agrees, it proves your assumption of knowing the truth. `You can only win, you`re always right, no matter how wrong you really are (not to say that anyone is wrong at all; that would be an absolute, and in my world there are very few absolutes. WEll I ABSOLUTELY detest arrogance and snobism, that`s for sure, even though I know I am very capable of it myself). Another thing that upset me greatly is the "woman-bashing", that has taken place lately in some threads here and in GU. And again, what really upsets me are those GENERALIZATIONS, all women, all men, etc. etc. And if you disagree, you are just too stupid, defensive (sometimes having defences against certain people seems like a good emotional survival-plan to me), unenlightened, dumb, blind, ignorant, and so on.
How to deal with such people? WEll, I have come to the conclusion, that I can talk astrological related things with some people, but that I wouldn´t want to exchange a personal or private word with them. And THAT is my version of: The door is shut. Cause I ALWAYS like to know people personally. Usually.
Hmmph, maybe I shouldn´t have answered now?
EDIT: What I don`t like about me. I can`t hold a grudge. I mean, I never forget anything, but I can`t hold a grudge, especially if it means to freeze communication or withdraw my knowledge. I just can`t do it. No matter how upset I may be about something or how mad I am with someone, I seem to be unable NOT to talk to them or answer questions. It`s the teacher`s curse I fear. :Sighs:

A lot of that stuff I just ignore as it doesn't relate in any way to my daily existence. For example, I know a couple of people couldn't put a name to their father, they are the salt of the earth. Single mothers? I know loads. As one points out: some of those ladies turning up their nose only need their husband to run off and they will be the same as me. Case closed. I think you are very Sagittarian. Can't stand narrow-mindedness and dare I say stupidity, also? Maybe this is where we are on the same track. I have Jupiter in Sag in the first house, Conjunct Neptune. It might also be why I'm right there with P.A and her shades of grey. IP: Logged |

The surgeon said he was going to push the bone back in. There's no bruising so I assume he has done that. He gave me a general anaesthetic first, probably more so he could get the job done quickly without me squirming around the table like a fish just out of the river than to spare my pain. I can already feel a difference in the breathing. On the way there my dad said his friend had done similar and didn't get anything done. 20 years later she started to get headaches which they put down to this, so I'm glad it got done now. My nose isn't straight, but it wasn't in the first place, so no loss. But I do like breathing through it. IP: Logged |

Well done, teachers. On the other side of the school gate that kid might be having a hard time. Other kids and parents can't always be relied upon to give him or her a chance. IP: Logged |

"Other kids and parents can't always be relied upon to give him or her a chance." Exactly. Yet, in dealing with so-called grownups I get slightly more impatient more quickly.

No blood. Very gentle, some of these surgeons.Wisdom teeth removal person was having a hard time though, lots of blood there, and vomit. I sat up and read a bit more of The Great Mortality: An Intimate History of Black Death . Not scary, not after a couple of chapters about Black Death. Nor after walking past the breast cancer screening centre. There for the Grace of God go I. IP: Logged |

BM - I think the I know everything and anyone else with a different opinion is just WRONG (mentality), bugs me.real judgemantal condescending stuff bugs me. i bug myself when i let stuff get to me and then respond with emotion. then i rewind it in my head way too much, i don't like having a temper when people say, "wake up", that bugs me. i really hope your nose is getting better, what an ordeal for you. The Dalai Lama said he hates his bad temper so you are in good company. We are all human, and I think it is reasonable to get annoyed reading someone ill-informed telling you all about how your country is shoddy, or how you are a waste of human life because you are a single mother. IP: Logged |

Empty vessels make the most noise. Or put better by Bryan Gallagher in Barefoot in Mullyneeny in the story The Stonemason where he talks about a man back in his home town (40s/50s Ireland): quote: Once I heard him demolish a smart alec who was poking fun at him at a country-house dance by standing up with great dignity and saying, it's not the man that has the most that gives the most away. It's not the man that knows the most that has the most to say.
