I'm sure it looks that way from inside your echo-chamber, T. But almost every one of my friends who I have spoken to about this thinks you are. (And a Child of God.) Here is what one amazing woman I know had to say in an email to me earlier today:
quote: People love to feel better about their regular, real lives by tearing down celebrities. It's so rude and remedial. Although I can hardly keep my eyes off of those magazines whilst checking out at grocery store and have passed time at salons/waiting rooms looking at them. Bor-ring. Decided not to shop at regular grocery stores as much as humanly possible to avoid that sh!t. Trader Joes and Whole Foods don't sell it, and the companies that contribute to a mindful, compassionate society are the companies I want to support.
It's a big world, after all.
Okay, gotta run!

You girls are so catty! My goodness, how rude! I'm looking at baby names online... Wow, there are some doozies out there! Any ideas? The boy name is all picked out (pre-destined family name, darnit), but I am at a loss for girls names... I would like something you don't hear that often, kinda unique... IP: Logged |

Picking out a name has to be tough. Do you have any in mind? HSC, are you trying to tell me something? That this person may be someone I know and talk to? If "almost every one of your friends" thinks so, that's cool, but we only have one mutual friend. I really dont care, especially about your other ones. Hope that "amazing woman" succeeds at making you feel better! Almost knocked me off my feet, let me tell you! Sweet dreams! IP: Logged |

quote: And, isn't this one of the lowest ways to feel better about yourself and your station in life?
When did I say that it makes me feel better, since you say this was a statement referring to my rant? I didn't. Also, you did not say you saw my point. If by quote: T,Try to understand... I agree with all of this.
you are somehow saying you see my point, that's pretty obscure and vague of a reference to seeing my point. I had to dig to find that little kernel. It's seriously a complex you seem to have that it's your responsibility to point out all of our immoral and low traits. Is that what you think will make you closer to God? Are you on a mission? Should I look out for you and some other dude dressed in suits and sunglasses to help me see the "bigger picture"? I don't need your help, but keep thinking I do. I choose to know what I know and act in a way I feel is decent and humane. I do have bigger ideas and thoughts than human compassion disguised as celebrity bashing, but in this thread, I DON'T SEE THE NEED TO EXPRESS THEM AND JUMP DOWN THE THROATS OF OTHERS WHO DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO EITHER. Not sure why that is so hard a concept to understand. Have a nice rest. IP: Logged |

It's nice to see that you have supportive friends, Stephen. But I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that they possess (apparently, in your view) a higher level of intelligence or integrity if they are disposed to agree with you that an individual they don't even know personally -- who has allegedly said something that they are hearing about secondhand from you -- is an arsehole.....IP: Logged |

T, Who also shop at Trader Joes... nice... I is larfing. I have a few ideas, one I really like and have for a while. The other was actually a name that was an option for me when I was born, funny how it came full circle and is a possibility for this lil one. The weird part is trying to pick a name that I think the baby will not hate when she is older. I hated mine for a long time. I am reminded of "Big Daddy" when he lets the little boy pick his own name. "Frankenstein!!" I like those girl names! I am into the older names myself. I like Lydia, Eloise and Rose, but they are not agreeable with the other half.. IP: Logged |

That's interesting that one of the one you like was also an option for you... Maybe sometimes the right one comes last minute? It's got to be tough trying to agree on one with someone. The ones you like are really pretty. I also like a couple of writesomethings. I've always liked Olive with an A though. I think Olivia is beautiful. You may want to think about the essence of the name and try and go from there too. I know Sophia means Wisdom. Rose is very beautiful and has a lovely nickname to go along with it, Rosie. Miss Melody made a great choice there. SunChild came up with a pretty one for her daughter too: Taleah Maybe you could find a day to meditate and connect with him/her and ask....see what comes through!?! I can't wait to find out what you decide see pictures. IP: Logged |

Two old friends of mine had a little girl many years ago and I love what they came up with:Odele ________________ The girl's name Odele \o-de-le\ is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "song". Also possibly (German) "rich", or an Old English place name for "woad hill". Woad is a blue dye supposedly used by the ancient Druids in their religious rites. Also possibly a variant of Adele. Odele has 11 variant forms: Odela, Odelet, Odelette, Odelina, Odeline, Odell, Odella, Odelle, Udele, Udelia and Udilia. IP: Logged |

How can you hurt all of these people who have tried to love you while professing some higher purpose of defending celebrities, animals, whatever your pet "cause" of the moment may be? Those pseudo bohemian pseudo intellectual "friends" of yours have NOTHING on T and would (and some already HAVE) betray you in a minute for their own self absorbed agenda. You are so busy pointing fingers that you don't see what you have become. Leave T alone. Go beat up on the stupid broad that caused you to turn into this and let T heal. She doesn't need this crap and THE LAST THING SHE NEEDS RIGHT NOW IS TO BE TORN DOWN BY SOME OTHER FRICKING THING. You leave her alone, Steve. And stop saying cruel crap to Ghani too. She's pregnant for God's sake. I can't believe you are doing this. I feel so angry and so sad back and forth. You used to be a priest. This isn't communicating and this isn't some wonderous thread that ends in beauty. This is like the morning after the women gets beat all night and the next day the man says he's sorry and makes her breakfast and brings her Tylenol... or the emotional abuse equivalent. She thinks everything's better the next day because she isn't getting beat anymore. Take your bad self over to Global and fight with (I mean ENLIGHTEN) jwhop and leave the women alone. I am so disappointed in you right now. I can't stand it. It actually makes me feel sick to my stomach because I don't know how to snap you out of this but I can't watch this anymore. I have been disgusted writing this for over an hour. And so frickin' SAD. There is nothing I can say. I tried to send you love and others tried to love, and you chose this path again. What you are doing is wrong. This is the third time I have EVER said this to you.IP: Logged |
