Then exalt something worthy of exaltation. The answer isnt to denigrate these people. IP: Logged |

HSC, anything that helps the common man remove these force fed "celebrities" from the national altar is ok with me.nothing personal against them. I call them fools because they're being used too. IP: Logged |

I'm sure 26T will have no problem with that, either. After all, "pain is only an opinion", right? IP: Logged |

Where'd you pull that quote out of, hsc? "Pain is only an opinion". Really? You think you have other's figured out so well? Your simple equations are just that. Do you want to eff around HSC? Still poking that stick at me? I've got your number HSC. You think people here want to see other people doused with gasoline and set on fire? Do you think you are the only one who feels real deep pain HSC? That we all need a wake up call from you? We need to hear your deep compassionate bold call to understanding and sympathy?

No, of course not, T.I have nothing to offer at all. But I do think you rely too much on "ultimate truth". "Pain is only an opinion" is a well-known Native American saying. Maybe I should not have told you about that one, lol. I see you latch onto "truths" like this, and use them as excuses to say and do whatever you want, because, hey, no skin off of your back. And what is essentially different between setting them on fire and humiliating them? More importantly, what is essentially the same? Inquiring minds want to know.

Behold, the Oracle has spoken! And yet... quote:
The ridiculous is not the opposite of the sublime, but its twin. The real opposite of the sublime is, of course, the intransigently banal and commonsensical. Smug detachment is the required postmodern pose, because, on a psychological level, postmodernism is driven above all by the fear of looking silly, of being seen to be taking something - which the big Other might turn out to deem as ridiculous - seriously. The pomonaut is so depressively flat because he is well aware that there is nothing that can in principle escape this judgement. Conspicuously cultivated ironic distantiation, the flaunting of lack of commitment, is thus the only possible option. http://k-punk.abstractdynamics.org/archives/2005_03.html

"The ridiculous is not the opposite of the sublime, but its twin. The real opposite of the sublime is, of course, the intransigently banal and commonsensical. " -this is just a declaration, and an irrelevant one. Because you find someone said something, only means that someone said something.Yes, I see you as ridiculous, not because I'm egotistical and don't want others to think me little, but because I THINK YOUR RIDICULOUS. Ridiculousness is not a state that can be proven, it's an opinion, which states the preference of those who say something is ridiculous. And... I don't like you. I think you're a pathetic a**hole to be frank. And yes, you're entitled to say that doesn't matter to you, but consequently, I will then not respect you, which yes, is currently already the case, BUT THE POINT IS that's because you've already been yourself to my presentation (and I say be yourself, not because I think it's all that is in you, but because it is how I referred to it before), and so already it has taken effect. The significance of this is that you will likely find a considerable amount of people are not attracted tot he traits you expose. And they have opinions, and if you want to prove to them that they are wrong, you're going to have to find out what is right, and what you're saying isn't convincing. IP: Logged |

Thank you for your opinion, snowhawk, but it sounds like a lot of disjointed nonsense. You don't know me or my complexity. You have no idea what I've shown here. You're just some incoherent teenager with an opinion. I hope you never have to see the world through my eyes. take care hsc
