I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so I put it here. I just wanted to know if there was anyone out there who knows how to calculate your "fertile" days in the month. I read that it's the day when the sun and the moon are the same number of degrees apart as they were at your birth. But I don't know how to find this out. I've looked up my birth chart online, and so far I got this:Moon: 28°42'01 Sun: 12°29'36 But I don't know how many degrees apart that is, or how to figure it out. If someone who knows could help me out, that would be splendid! IP: Logged |

You would need to put the signs of those planets as well for the calculation to be made.Essentially, there are 30 degrees per sign designated as 0 to 29 (the little lines you see). There are 360 degrees in a circle. If you divide 360 by 12 signs, you get 30 degrees each. That is the reason behind the degree count. For me, my Moon is at 29 degrees Virgo. My Sun is at 5 degrees Capricorn. The easiest bit of counting is of the degrees inside the signs between Virgo and Capricorn not including Virgo and Capricorn. Those signs are Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. Three signs with 30 degrees each (3 x 30). That's means there's 90 degrees (from 0 Libra to 29 Sagittarius). Now I just have to add the degrees to my Sun and Moon from the ends of those signs. My Moon is one degree outside of Libra, so now we're up to 91 degrees. My Sun is 6 degrees outside of Sagittarius, so our final total is 97 degrees between them. IP: Logged |

Thank you, AG! I really appreciate your clear explanation. Both my sun and moon are in Cancer, so it should be easy for me to calculate that. You know, I've been asking so many questions here, that I think it's about time I started giving something back to you guys. I'll try to post some interesting info. IP: Logged |

You can get a fertility calendar at astro.com.Only mine doesn't work out, so I'm not sure how accurate this is. IP: Logged |

No way would I ever use this method. But back in the day, with periods like an atomic clock, and a strong sense of that ovulation time of the month, I either worked around this time window or went at it like a duracell bunny as suited at the time. It did work (both contraception and conception). Disclaimer here that I was in a steady relationship where he was keen for me to get on and have children. So the high failure rate that generally goes with this as a method of contraception was not in itself off-putting. It's not a risk I would be as likely to take in different circumstances.

I think I'm going to put this to rest for now, and just stick to the usual methods. Of course, I don't really need to be concerned about this right now, as I'm not involved with anyone at the moment. I just like to plan ahead. IP: Logged |

Planning has its merits. But watch out if you get an Aquarius to father your children, he might moan about 'boot camp'. IP: Logged |

Actually... I think this might actually work. I just checked a fertility calendar (not the one at astro.com) and it said that "high fertility" begins on the 23rd of this month, which is the exact day when the sun and the moon are 16 degrees apart for the first time in the month. So maybe you're only supposed to count the first time it makes that degree.. Unless you were born during the second time it did that.. I don't know, it's just my theory. I guess I could use both the calendar and my chart, and see how in sync they are. And in the meanwhile, I can wait during BOTH times.. Oh, don't worry about that, Blue Moon. I only plan that much for myself.. if I ever do it for someone else, it'd be only because they want me to.. and even then I'd take their opinion into consideration... etc. ALSO, I have an Aquarius rising, so my plans tend to change unexpectedly.
