When counting the degrees between the sun and the moon, which one do you start counting from? I'm sure I'm doing this wrong, because it seems that the sun and moon are the same number of degrees apart twice a month, instead of just once a month. I know you're supposed to count counter-clockwise, but do you start from the sun or the moon's position?

Also, both the sun and the moon were in Cancer at my birth, so does that mean they have to be in the same sign (not necessarily Cancer), during that "fertile" time of the month?

Sorry for asking so many questions! I just really want to get this right. I hate the idea of man-made birth control.

Well, being a Cancer, I would think you have extra chance of being fertile 24/7. Cancer is the mother of the zodiac.

Just count the short distance between your Sun and Moon. 28 - 12 = 16
Clockwise or counterclockwise doesn't really matter in this instance (if you look at your Sun and Moon as being 344 degrees apart, it's really the same as them being 16 degrees apart since it's a circle...and by that I mean that if one is true [344], the other will also always be true[16]).

I don't think that they would have to be necessarily in the same sign as long as the amount of degrees is correct.

At first I was thought you were wrong about the twice a month thing (as the Moon only passes over the Sun once a month), but you're right. The Moon will approach the Sun and be 16 degrees from it, and then after it passes the Sun it will also be 16 degrees from it, so I think you are correct.

Here's an animation of the planets transitting: http://grupovenus.com/astroreloje.asp?day=13/03/2007%209:26:10

I don't know if anyone has thoroughly tested this theory, so you may be out of luck if you're trying to use this as birth control.

Thank you so much again for your help.
I read on a forum somewhere that someone conceived accidentally and she checked the day that she had intercourse, and it was the exact day where the moon and the sun were the same degrees apart as they were at her birth.. so maybe there are really two days in the month to watch out for. I don't know.. it could have just been coincidence, but then again, I don't believe in coincidences. Hehe.
In Love Signs Linda says that it was tested with a good number of women and that it was about 98 or 99% accurate, and that it should have been 100% accurate.
Well, I'll do some more research on this. I mean, I don't think there's much information on it anywhere near me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll come across something eventually.
I appreciate your help.

With starry wishes and snowflake kisses,
~Pumpkin
