My neighbour had a cat and dog who were buddies - much to popular bemusement - we just found the stereotype dog chasing cat routine more believable.

After 10 degrees of pawsing around the dog got hit by acar and died.The cat spent a week mewing piteously in the building staircaser until every resident was moved to tears - and then was found dead on the dog's rug
