If so, what part of the state and what's the climate like? I'm thinking about relocating there in a few years. Thanks.------------------ "...to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." Albus Dombledore Sorcerer's Stone IP: Logged |

I live in Phoenix, Az right now and its been getting hot here starting to get 88 degrees and in the month of May it can get as hot as 115, very dry type of heat to. I recommend if you come to city Phoenix that you stay on the east side of or go into Scottsdale/Tempe...anything past Central and Thomas going into the avenues is heading towards the ghetto area. I am about ready to live the state though, I've had my fill of here.------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer "I was born when she kissed me. I LOVE Arizona Bear and I lived in Cochise County (http://www.explorecochise.com/) near Fort Huachuca- more specifically in Sierra Vista and Bisbee. http://www.discoverbisbee.com/ Sierra Vista is okay, but we prefer the vast land around Hereford and the beautiful mountains in Bisbee. I lived in a house built in 1920, up 55 concrete stairs and it was built into the mountain side off of Tombstone BLVD. In the winter it did get cold, but not Flagstaff cold.. we had a bit of snow from time to time and the summers were very bearable. It is a county that is rustic and there is alot to do if you like exploring mountains, the desert and historic sites. We didn't have much of a mall (you had to do to Tucson for that) but downtown Bisbee was a blast and the people are incredible. Bear and I plan to retire there and either buy land when we PCS (move) back to the states or right before he retires from the Army. Oh.. and my family still lives there (Litchfield Park outside of Phoenix) and Bear has family in Benson (about 30 miles from Tucson). IP: Logged |

I've been in Arizona about 18 years so far and its been so so for me...I will probably end up moving to NYC whenever I can get enough money together. According to what I have read about Astrocartography I have my Sun IC line right through New York. Since I do seek warmth and light its just for me ------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer "I was born when she kissed me. Eighteen years is a long time,libraschoice7. I've never lived anywhere else but Maine. The driving conditions during the winter is dangerous, I don't know how I'll manage in my golden years. That's why I want to live in a warm climate. The only thing is I like to sleep with the fan running, so I may switch to a humidifier.NYC... Wow. I think I would end up killing someone for a taxi. Hee hee.

Thank you, pidaua for your reply. It's very good to know the details. I would like to live close to where the action is, like large super markets, a library (of course), and department/clothing stores. I don't like to feel isolated. I don't mind cool weather, but I'd like the snow to melt once it hits the ground. Do you know what I mean? There's so much research to do and you both are helping me decide in which part I'd like to live. Thanks. If there's anymore you'd care to add (pictures...hint-hint), go right ahead!

There are a few of us here in AZ. Sounds like you'll want to stick to the big cities like Phoenix, and Tucson. Prescott and Flagstaff are growing like crazy these days and have malls, but the snow tends to hang around and I wasn't crazy about the wind turning on at 10 am everyday like clockwork in Prescott.I lived there for 5 yrs. I prefer the more rural, small town areas best and am about to purchase property in south-east AZ, I'm hoping 20 acres will be enough to keep civilization at bay in case the population sees an unfortunate boom here again.
