Why I'd love to, Madame Z! So many beautiful photos in that thread.

I have the honor of communing everyday with a grand and beautiful silver leaved poplar ~ a longtime family friend I watched my grandfather plant many years ago ~ and a certifiably enchanted forest just across the road from my little house. 'Tree' was one of my son's first words.
I love trees because they have deep roots. Because they're patient. Because they remember.

Come into the garden
its magical trees
dapple the sun
with each lazy breeze
they'll set your mind at ease ...

I think we should just keep bumping this thread.

I am not kidding or being sarcastic or trying to sully this masterpiece.

This thread is a gift, and I think every
one of us ought to just bump it to the top
when we feel like some thread is getting
too hectic or petty or whatever.

I am totally going to do that, if I dont forget.

I want this thread to have a thousand posts in it.

And I think Blue Roamer should be elected
Head Moderator of All Lindaland.

(Next to Randall, the Mandall)

And if there isnt a title like that,
Randall should come on and declare it,
and make it motherf-cking official.

And Blue Roamer, you also have my permission
to rebuke me if you think I am bugging out,
and I will just take it and thank you for it.

But nobody else can do that, lol.

You have to go get BR and get him to say it.

Okay, I'm done.

Oh, and I'm not saying I did anything wrong.

At least, not compared to anyone but Blue Roamer and Jesus.

Oh, zala, silver leaved maples are so pretty! I think maples are very friendly, unassuming, 'common folk' type trees. Their leaves are very similiar to my poplar. So you know the magical things a soft breeze can do ...

I hear you, katatonic. and we sure do binge and purge a lot around this place.

makes me want to give a respectful nod to the bestest, baddest, most beautifullest tree ever ... The Yggdrasil, the First Tree, the World Tree

I know I hung on that windy Tree
nine long nights
wounded with a spear, dedicated to Odin
myself an offering to myself
on that tree of which no man knows
from where its roots run

Havamal

Others too of course, but scorpios in particular seem to have this seared onto their souls at birth, I think

i wonder what Blue is doing today

Thou art my way;
I wander, if Thou fly:

Thou art my light;
If hid, how blind am I?

Thou art my Life;
If Thou withdraw, I die.

Speaking of trees

This is a poem most often sung at Christmas but it inspires me all year long.

Jesus Christ the Apple Tree

1

The tree of life my soul hath seen,
Laden with fruit and always green:
The trees of nature fruitless be
Compared with Christ the apple tree.
2

His beauty doth all things excel:
By faith I know, but ne'er can tell
The glory which I now can see
In Jesus Christ the apple tree.
3

For happiness I long have sought,
And pleasure dearly I have bought:
I missed of all; but now I see
'Tis found in Christ the apple tree.
4

I'm weary with my former toil,
Here I will sit and rest a while:
Under the shadow I will be,
Of Jesus Christ the apple tree.
5

This fruit doth make my soul to thrive,
It keeps my dying faith alive:
Which makes my soul in haste to be
With Jesus Christ the apple tree

What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world is immortal"~
