I can't speak for anyone else but I am in my 'jamas, drinking a cup of tea. Last night I was watching Irish comedian Ed Byrne on the telly, stand-up. He did some material about women communicating which cracked us up.... he said if you've got a problem with somone, you can go for option A or option B. In option A, you can come straight out and tell them what they've done to p!ss you off, so you can get it out in the open and move on. Or you can go for option B, acted p!ssed off, and let the b@stard work out what he's done wrong. Mr bm said... you go for option B. I don't, I said, I give it straight. Er, well, sometimes I do, but sometimes I go for option B. I have certainly been known to say the line....if you don't know, I'm not going to tell you..... IP: Logged |

From what you've said about yourself, you seem like an A. I'm more of a B, but if it seems to be a mystery what I'm upset about, then you're just not very self-aware or smart. To me, it shouldn't seem like a mystery. Invariably the people I typically get p!ssed at are idiots. IP: Logged |

I'm right down the middle myself....most of the time I spill it out right away (I hate letting stuff fester), but sometimes I wait so that I don't sound like a nutcase (which happens from time to time lol)I made my apple pie (again) yesterday and it was wonderful. Used ground almonds in the crust....it was strange to roll out initially, but turned out great. Gives depth to the taste. I'm on a weird pie kick. In the past 2 months I've made: -Chocolate pudding pie -Banana pudding pie (with a chocolate graham cracker crust) -Blueberry pie (god, that was good) -Apple pie I'm thinking of making strawberry pie next. I'm getting a little obsessive with perfecting the crust, and want to make a lattice crust soon

Oh wow, those pies sound good. I have given up cake, chocolate and biscuits for Lent. It's really tough. But I have to do it. My sponsors have already paid up! (Doing it for a cancer charity). Do you do Ramadam, MVM? The ice-cream seller in our town does, I wonder how he copes when it falls in Summer. He tells me it's tough, but he does it. IP: Logged |

I take it it's decaffienated tea?I go out with a ministry that feeds the homeless twice a month. My roll is playing music with a couple guys for a few hours, so it's not quite as altruistic as it may sound. Tonight our only persistent audience was an older gay black couple. Tommy and Johnny. Tommy had been smoking pot, and may have been bombed on something else as well. He even proposed that he may have alzheimer's as he acknowledged his tendency to lose his place in what he's saying. For instance he starting talking to me about smoking, and suddenly got closer and admitted that he's gay, and then wondered what he was talking about and why he had moved closer. He looked to be in his 40's, but said he was turning 65 on May 19th. I thought he might be a Gemini, but I looked it up right now, and he's a Taurus. He took me for younger as well. The only age he ventured with regard to me was 19. Tommy also informed me that he was a designer, and showed me the ways that he'd modified his outfit. He certainly had a unique, and not offensive style. Johnny loved the music, and knew how to play guitar himself. Despite my playing guitar, he accurately picked me out as the bass player of the group, which I have been for years with this group. He somehow magically got me to relinquish the guitar I was playing (my friend's handmade, one-of-a-kind guitar). My friend had given me the nod, though, so I let him. I had no idea what to expect. In a major city like San Francisco it's easily conceivable that these guys could be swindlers or something, so as Johnny was leaning in towards me while playing I kept my arm positioned behind him in case he should try to run. His first song wasn't quelling my nervousness either. It sounded as if he was making it up on the spot. He gave the guitar back, though. He took it once again a little bit after, and this time his chord progression caught both Rolf (the owner of that guitar) and I by surprise. It was a cool little diddy. The other guy we play with then asked for the guitar in order to play a song he wrote, or so he said. He was apparently nervous for the guitar, too. So they were cool. They were a bit confused. They insisted that we take their number. They talked about us coming to their place. Johnny said the reason we'd be back in two weeks was because we'd be touring (when we'd said nothing remotely close to that). IP: Logged |

AG, you are right, I am more of an A. But I do a little bit of B, making the miscreant beg a little bit before I tell them why I am p!ssed off. In the sketch he did another piece about how women seem to save up tricky conversation for when their husbands/boyfriends are lying down in bed. Guilty. It's true, but he never really got onto why... It's because you can't run off then, we've got you, you're vulnerable and can't avoid the question/issue/conversation. In the bath or on the toilet are other good ones, walking off will be difficult. p.s Cool story, and isn't that people? You just never know what hidden talents and knowledge are lurking under unprepossessing exteriors IP: Logged |

My friend's theory was that ex-pat communities tend to observe religious and social rules more tightly than the folks back home. I think there is something in that.IP: Logged |

Are you missing the shenanigans of the Aussie contingent AG?It has been a busy day for me so far. To many emails to respond too. I let them all gather for a while & then respond to them all at once. Which seems to be the way o do everything...All or nothing. So how has your day been gorgeous? IP: Logged |

Yes!My day's been alright. I did some cleaning in preparation for my move, and I did laundry, too. Not much else. Watching a hockey game right now. I found amongst my stuff a report that I was indeed an INTJ, a Mastermind, previously. IP: Logged |

YAY baby! A fellow mastermind. awesome. Ahhh the dreaded packing ritual, it's exhausting isn't it? I always seem to get lost in memories as I come across old photo's & trinkets etc...that part I enjoy.
So who's winning at the moment? oops got to run. Have to pick up the squid from school. (2.30pm) Talk soon if you are still awake. IP: Logged |

Oh, I didn't remember that it was you who was the mastermind.Yes, I don't like housework, much less moving. Also, I know I need to learn to throw out what I won't likely use, but that's not always an easy decision. My team won in regulation, which is good. It seems that most of their wins lately have been in overtime, which is just too nerve wracking. IP: Logged |
