Am I to understand that this dust bunny becomes acquired taste cuisine, followed by a glass of wine?Or, am I right to say that drinking a bottle of wine may lead this behaviour? IP: Logged |

Spunk, I moved a little bit of stuff over today. Then I filled some cracks with white caulk. Works better as an audible pun. I did, though. The baseboards were just installed in my new room, so I volunteered to fill in the gap that shows at the top of the baseboard when the wall isn't perfectly straight.PA, you've probably said before, but what sun signs are your parents? I need some help. I'm wondering, when I'm done taking over the Earth, which system should I conquer next? I'm a big fan of Pleiades. But I'm confused, does that make me reptillian? If so, is it okay for me to overthrow my own? Maybe I should set my sights on Mars, with so much Aries, it makes sense. But that's so cliche. I'm quite Uranian, so that's an option too.IP: Logged |

Well, I was thinking Pluto, spunky. But geez. As an Aries I have to be rather practical. Pluto is so damn far. By the time I get there I'll have lost interest. IP: Logged |

Unusual combo, PA. My mom's also a Leo, but my dad an Aries. I thought that perhaps we both were of an alien sun element to our parents. Instead, it only appears we have issues with our squaring fathers (which probably isn't true for either of us).IP: Logged |

AGIt is an interesting mix. It's like war of the worlds. Love/hate each other. Well, I think they hate each other but can't live without each other. The people who build a life of misery together, stay together. Natally, I have Moon square both Saturn and Mars. There's tension there. I can't say that I like them as human beings. As a parent now, I find new respect for their roles as my parents. But I can't honestly say that they have been nurturing in a way that I need. But I think in a lot of ways, I'm only learning that need in myself now anyway and how it can be filled lovingly and filfillingly. IP: Logged |

That comment of yours AG, made me look up my dad's chart & I ran the basic synastry chart. It seems ok I suppose....I'm not sure what to make of it honestly. IP: Logged |

Amen to that. Totally relate. My parents either. My mom was in some ways, but in some very important other ways she undermined me. IP: Logged |

I think sometimes parents fear that their children will surpass them. I've seen it with my husband. His father is jealous of him. Such a strange thing to observe. But I've always felt that same feeling from my mother towards me. Just things that you wouldn't associated a parent "should" feel towards their own children. My parents were very strict and any form of creativity was never allowed, never encouraged. I'm a hugely creative person and that was a lot of stifling. I mean, I think, to me, that was just restricting who I am - my very self. I was always the grown up in the house. Even now, my parents are still the children. Peole either love or hate that I'm a big kid. I don't give a **** . I missed out. Had to grow up very very fast and way too young. I was working at age 10. I've earnt the right to be a kid for the rest of my life. **** anyone who has a problem with that. I've fought for that. It's mine.IP: Logged |

The only good thing to come out of it is that we have become awesome mothers. That's what I'm good at. Okay That has to go into BM's thread.

spunksterIn reply to your post in bm's talent thread, I think that you either become what you've seen (and despise) or the opposite. I would love to say I'm a great mother, but I just aim to be the parent that my children need me to be. IP: Logged |

Well it's all relative isn't it? I know there are children out there that I just don't 'get' & I don't think I would be an awesome parent to them. But awesome to the one I have. Like I said....it's all relative.Besides Aries people make awesome parents because they appreciate kids just the way they are. IP: Logged |

My mom told me as a little kid that I couldn't be a visual artist as they don't make money. I was a good at drawing, and I had asked her about some school for that.Later I found music, and that was encouraged to a certain degree. I got a couple years of piano lessons, which is good for the parental resume as much as it is good for the child. I was never encouraged to be in band, to start a band, to pursue professional music, etc. Natural musician, though. I don't think my dad would care for me outdoing him either. I recently was reminded that he essentially thinks I should adopt his philosophy even after I've seen all the failures in it. I don't know if I should list the failures, but I don't want them, and I don't have them. IP: Logged |

I think it's good that you can recognise those failures and that they aren't for you, AG. I think that you can seperate yourself from them and not claim them as yours is really key. I think a lot of people take on their parents' failures as their own. Even just by fearing of becoming their parents or being like them.IP: Logged |

I think for meat and potatoes type people, even if just from having grown up that way for social or financial survival, the need for creative expression is not given any significance or relevance, or even recnognised at all in some cases.IP: Logged |

I agree, though it feels like I get to pay the karma for their mistakes. My self-expression (Sun) is stunted (square Moon, Pluto). I'm still finding my voice.IP: Logged |

Aw, I love that. I would like to claim that, but it's way more than being an Aries. I relate to children far better than I relate to adults. It's natural ground. What you see here is what you get with me. I have a fairly large personality, even though I'm quite quiet in nature. I can relax and just be who I am. They get it. I enjoy the company. I let them be who they are and they let me be who I am. Of course, when I help out at my children's school, I fall in love with the kids and want to bring them home and raise them as my own. They're just brilliant. I absolutely adore them. IP: Logged |
